    Tower speakers for FCT 5?

Are the stock tower speakers that come with the 2012 SAN 210 worth the $$? Is there a better alternative, and if so... How do the aftermarket ones mount? Do the stock ones, or aftermarket speakers require an extra amp to run them properly? Let me know.

    Thanks much, agouge888

the stereo level II package comes with: polk 5000.5 digital amp, a 10" sub, and bow speakers. then there is the tower prewire option that comes with a 4000.4 polk amp. the tower speakers are two separate options. 1 for the horn loaded roswell speaker pair, and 2 for the lower pair of polk speakers. i have no idea about cost on these options.

The tower speakers are not worth the money. Until nautique wakes up and starts using, Wetsounds, Nvs, bullet, or another quality hlcd speaker, then all you are paying for with the factory upgrade is showy in boat speakers. The amps aren't great either. Save the money and have your dealer or a quality shop put in real tower speakers and an amp that can drive them if you want to enjoy the tunes at 70' plus out when riding, which is the real point of tower speakers. If you just want tunes in the boat, don't bother with tower speakers at all.

IMO, regardless of the quality of the factory stereo equipment i think that it's over priced. You can get wet sounds or a similar quality product for the same price or less than all the factory equipment, and you will have a much better sounding system and possibly a more efficient system as well. however, unless things have changed you wont have the cut outs for the bow speakers without the level II package.
