G23 - Let the countdown begin

When you get yours can you tell me what the dimension is folded down? I understand that you have bigger tires but I would like to know. I was told when I almost placed the order that it was almost 7" high on the Ram-Lin Trailer.

Boatmate told me in an email that the highest point (with the tower folded down), is about 8'3" with the 18" wheels, and 8' high with the 14" wheels. He said that the highest point seemed to be directly over the wheels, as that is where the tower folded at. Is this what you're wondering?

I might have one here as early as next Wednesday or Thursday that I'll be able to measure (still a big maybe on this), but not sure what trailer it would be on.

Here is a pic of the G23 that we will have up here this weekend for our MN Spring Ride. It's being delivered on Friday morning, from Georgia just for this event. Even though this isn't my particular boat, it is the exact same color as the one I will perminantly have in a week or two.

I realize the build process is different as is the $ available, but corvettes can be tracked to completion within 5 minutes. Pretty amazing stuff. I can't wait to hear how much you love the boat and some of the ins and outs of actual use.

An ordered G23 came in this past week at my best friend's dealership for a customer. Good lord, that is one big boat. It's funny to park a 230 next to a G23. The 230 looks like a circus clown car next to it! lol. Like the cooler in the rear. That's functional and somethign the big boats like Formula's have. Nice addition. As big as the boat is, the interior isn't much bigger than the 230, though. I have to admit I was kind of dissappointed in that.

It was delivered to Nisswa Marine. They used it in the In Water Boat Show this weekend. Here are some pics.

Does it handle like a Nautique should? How is the acceleration?

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a response. Iron will be too busy driving that bad#ss boat to log in.

Man, I wrote a long response last night, but it appears it didn't stick...maybe has something to do with my inability to access the site this morning???

Anyway, here's a recap.

Overall Impression - the boat is fabulous. You'd probably get this response from anyone, on any boat they purchased, but I've ridden nearly every boat out there fully weighted and the G23 is by far better than anything I've experienced. Granted, the best wake is all personal preference, and I have yet to try out the new XStar.

Driveability - With stock ballast it drives great. Add another 2000 pounds extra to it and it's a little "tankish". I'm sure with the 550hp Super Charged engine it's a different story!

Size - The boat is massive. You can definitely tell a difference when towing the G23, compared to the 230. I have a Silverado half-ton with the 6.2 liter engine (407 hp and 415 lb/ft of torque). Truck still does fine, but there is a noticable difference compared to the 230. You can fit 10 adults in it comfortably while riding. If you're just doing a party cruze, 16 adults is definitely doable.

Wake - The wake is nothing short of amazing. It's HUGE! The shape of it is a mixture of the XStar and the 230. Has a long transition with an giant kick at the top. Really hard to explain and believe, until you actually experience it.

Drive and Acceleration - Again, with stock ballast it's fine, but with another 2000 pounds of extra weight it's a tad sluggish...I'll deal with an extra few seconds to get on plain if I can have this ginormous wake!
