    INT @ Coventry!!!

Finally! For us kneeboarders, wakeboarders, and hydrofoilers in the Southern New England area, my dad and I have worked with our local CC dealer, the state, and Tom and Dianne Peterson who run the New England INT to convince them to bring an INT down into CT! I know there are a lot of boarders on Candlewood for instance that feel like we're left out of all the events, I'm one of them. So to all Candlewood Lakers, I send a special invitation out to you because this lake has long awaited an event like this and has desperately needed one.

The wait is over! INT will be coming to Coventry, a relatively small lake just north of Hartford. This location is new to INT and seems to be an ideal spot. So anyone in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and even some of PA, NH, and VT, this event is for you! Mark your calanders for July 15-17.

To give an idea of where it is, about 1 1/2 hrs northeast of Candlewood Lake, and practically in Hartford's backyard.

For more details, please feel free to email me anytime at eaglex9@nyc.rr.com

          RE: What is INT?

Stands for International Novice Tour. It is a competition leage for amatures, or novices. They're main sports are kneeboarding, wakeboarding, and slaloming. The country is split up into divisions, where each has about 4-6 events where anybody is welcome to compete. All ages and skill levels are welcome. The great thing about it is that no one feels like they suck because when you sign in, you tell them what level you are, and they assign you to that specific level. So when the boats go out to pull the riders, novices are competing against other novices of the same level, pros against pros, and so on... This system really works well, I've seen kids about 9 years old, probably younger, competing. But this is not a baby event, most people are my age, anywhere between 12-16.

The only reason why the New England Division has hydroifoiling is because one of SkySki's Team Riders, Scott Honkola (sp?) is in NH, so Tom and Dianne Peterson work with him to involve hydrofoiling into their competitions.

I think at the end they have the championships somewhere in CA, (God forbid any major event be in my area...) which is a pretty big deal. Nautique pulls that event if I'm correct.

P.S. Tom and Dianne Peterson are the people that run the New England Division of INT. Forgot to add that, sorry...

I am a USA Waterski member but I must admit that the INT tourny's are doing a great job of bringing new people to our sport! They are alot of fun and very non threatening for the beginer.

I will give them that credit but USA WaterSki as a whole is a lot better organization. The INT causes the sport to be too far seperated. The sport is small enough as it is and now you have two interfering organizations who don't work together. They used to in the past but I can't remember what happened.
