Nautique 230 - "Deluxe Mirror"

Hey Forum --

Anyone else having or had problems with the "Deluxe Mirror" from Nautique on their 230 ? I have cranked and tightened every hex bolt on our new 230 mirror and its windshield clamp and it still continues to fall down. Into the wind at about 15 mph it slowly starts to fall until it ends up the whole way down (as if you had folded it down to cover your boat)

When not going into the wind it starts fall down at about 30 mph and goodness forbid you hit a bump or wave it just falls even faster.....

Anyone else had these problems ? I cant tighten it down anymore without snapping a bolt or a wrist !! Took a couple videos on my iphone of just how bad it is and sent to my dealer who said they forwarded on to CC to see how to proceed.

I am dealing with the exact same thing on my 2012 210. The mirror is useless. I would be interested to hear what CC says.

Get a PTM Edge mirror. I love mine!

I did recently retrofit the deluxe extension piece from Nautique parts and first time out it did sag, so i needed to to tighten up the hex heads on the backside of the knuckles which did the trick, but I did leave the Allen key on board just in case.

So far mine has been OK but everything is very tight. I have to use some force to move it to trailering and cover position. 2010 SANTE 230. Is your problem at the ball or hing joint?

I removed the extension piece on my 200, it just looked out of place being so far above the window. Now it sits mostly above the window but some below. It sits there real tight and I have no problems with it like that.

Same exact problem here. All of the Allen bolts are as tight as can be and my mirror constantly falls at the slightest bump when on the water. Obviously this design wasn't tested very well.

The PTM mirror looks great but I'm not ready to spend the cash for a new mirror/mount on a brand new boat.

aaron0083 -- I pretty much agree --- I actually planned to get one of the PTM mirrors anyway, but considering its a brand new boat, this shouldnt be happening and the ridiculous part is, look at all the people on here having same problem ... (HEY NAUTIQUE, hope you read the forums here)....

Now considering I "paid" for this wonderful "deluxe mirror upgrade" as a $254 upgrade option -- Nautique should just send me that $$ back so I can use those few bucks to buy my PTM mirror.

yes, I took 2 videos clearly showing the problem - sent them to my dealer - who said they forwarded the videos to correct craft and asked them how to proceed / fix the problem.

Its been a week, but havent heard anything as of today...

Well let us know what they say because mine does the same thing, mine is currently folded all the way forward so it rests on itself slightly forward of the windshield. I almost think that's how they feel it should sit because as it's built right now it won't stay in any other position.

Had the same problem with my mirror. Service department at the dealership has a simple fix. A small amount of metal needs to be shaved where the bolt clamps the bracket to the rubber ring. When the material is removed, the bolt can be tightened a few more turns resolving the issue. Bring the mirror to the dealer you bought the boat from and im sure they will have the right wheel to shave the metal without you ever knowing it was touched.

That's what I was thinking. Needs a shim somewhere.

I have the same problem brand new 200

Make sure ALL Bolts , side and front are tight and I keep allen key in boat,,,,,,,,,,,very frustrating when hit wake or wind

Also i have to lower my mirror every time after ski to put cover on and this does not help as it only loosens up bolts again
