    Heading to the dealer tomorrow

Well I am going to the local dealer JUST TO LOOK (I am trying to convince myself of this fact). They have an 04 211TE and have access to an 04 216TE. Have not even been considering the 211 but it doesn't hurt to look right? Any thoughts on what a fair price on these boats would be. Wish me luck, we'll see how disciplined I am.

    Thanks

When you say "JUST TO LOOK," you mean test-drive them both also, right???

I will drive them too. The dealer has a private lake on site. I mean to look not to buy.................................probably.

Gator, what are your priorities? Are you a skier or boarder? If you are a slalom skier, the 206 is very hard to beat--world class wakes, handling etc. It also has a decent intermediate wake board wake. My kids love both and I love the slalom wake. If you are a boarder, then the 211/216 is your boat. The 211 has received glowing reviews.

Sorry, not sure of the pricing except expensive. Good luck and enjoy the experience.

Look for a 15% discount off list. But remember, your dealer is not competing against other Nautiques, just other manufactures, so his pricing should reflect that. Decide which boat you want and then talk numbers.

Weekend before last I had relatives in town so we loaded the boat up with 7 people and went out for a boat ride. Just in case I threw in a wakeboard and waterski. I took a board run and my nephew took a slalom run. It was so nice not having to move anybody when he took the slalom run. Even with 7 people in the boat he said the wake of the 211 feels softer then the wake of the 1995 Ski Nautique. I found this to be quite a comment considering we had about 1300lbs of bodies in the boat, the typical crew in the 95 was 400-600lbs. In the past I would had to tell somebody to stay home and then I would have only been able to wakeboard.

Everybody commented on how comfortable the boat was, I am really liking the new 211.

Well we took a trip to the dealer today and changed my whole train of thought. I don't feel like the 216 is the right boat for my family right now but I was very impressed with the 211. I liked it much more in person than I had is pics. The dealer has a grey/black 2004 model left . It is a TE with all the options. Very nice boat. They did offer at what seemed to a good price but I have no point of reference. Would those of you in the know on 211 pricing mind sharing either by posting or by PM.

              Thanks.

I figured that might happen. No one who buys a 216 now does it because they see one and suddenly like it. All the buyers I've seen bought them because of old school reasoning and classic looks and lines, not what's practical. 211 is definately the way to go on practicallity.

I drove the 211 for the first time a week or two ago and was very impressed. It has a much larger boarding wake than the 216 and just slightly taller wake for slaloming. I was very impressed with the hydrogate. It really works a lot more than I thought. Just think of what would happen if it moved more than 1/8 of an inch...

I'd be hard pressed not to look seriously at the 211 when we get kicked off the private lake. I hear it skis very similar to the 216/206 and has lots of room.

Good luck and I hope you join the family.
