I have searched around and realize i should probably only post on CCF (for the age of my boat). but, for free skiing. (at slower speeds up 28 to 32 mph) what is a good rope length? picked up an connelly outlaw to get back in to skiing and want to have fun. I plan to play around with rope length. but, would appreciate a starting point. 15 off etc. to do not want have to ski 10 times to find the right length.... summers are short

thanks for the reply DanielC. I skied a handful of times last year with a wake board rope and really had no idea how long the rope was. I noticed the impact of fuel last year.... we don't have access to gas on the lake or premium at all so I take the boat full. about mid week the wake noticeably gets smaller.
I've been thinking about taking out the back seat for skiing and leave room for sacs when we surf and board.

I would definitely agree with -15'off. There are quite a few people that put a small amount of weight in the bow of your era boat, which helps lower the wake. If I recall, it's something like 30 or 60lbs?'08 196LE (previous)

i didn't take the back seat out but found two spotters with a combined weight of 70 lbs.! (the kids) got to ski once before work had to be done and the weather turned. forgot how small the wake is on these boats! any era. thanks for the input om the rope length/wake.
now, just need to figure out ski length.... 69" felt slow to turn ski (carve smooth) the 67" ( i believe) last year and it seemed to carve an easier turn which is what I am looking for. nice easy fun turns. I'm 6'1" 195 - 200lbs. open to recommendation on length of ski... or am I just rusty? connelly outlaw is the skiIt\'s Good to be Here
