    211 failure to start

We've started having problems with our 211 Air Nautique; plain and simple, it wont start.
The engine will crank over but wont fire up.

We've checked everything possible and have come to find that it's getting power and fuel, but the spark plugs arnt sparking; however there is something potentially wrong with the on board computer. The engine has been running hot for the past week (with plenty of hours spent in the engine bay looking for the problems but coming up with no apparent coolant issues.) could the computer tripped into a 'safe mode'

If this a computer problem and how would you go about fixing it, I imagine it would mean taking it to the nearest PCM dealership, however we're in Greece (middle of no where) and as we are a holiday resort; we have over 200 guests that we need to get out on the water; we need the boat back as soon as possible!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know you said "everything possible" but always start with the basics. Make sure the kill switch is fully engaged. It does't take much to disengage it.

Pull the distributor cap and check the rotor bug. Also verify it spins when you crank the engine.

Also check under the cap once you remove it for corrosion.

We think that there is no power going to the distributor cap, could the problem be with the ECU, due to overheating problems we've experienced this week, could the computer be stopping us from starting the engine??

However will check that the distributor is indeed spinning and for corrosion.
