I am having serious difficulties with Brent and his crew -- more on that later -- but first off - below are a few pictures of my nautique 230 cover sports cover and how it fits (or doesnt fit) around my factory tower legs - as you can see there is a large gap between the cover and the tower.....Does your cover sports cover fit this poorly around the tower legs ??

CCS, been watching you agonize over this cover for a month and you're still not happy. I would try to return it and order a factory cover from your dealer. I would hope Brent would take it back since it's brand new and he surely will be able to sell it to another 230 owner. The fitment at the transom on that thing is horible and the tower cut outs no better. the factory cover wraps around the tower and secures with velcro, the rachets on the back snug it right down for towing, we love ours. I know you went with coversports because you could only get a factory cover in black but if you're not happy it doesn't matter what color it is.

81nautique ---
Well, heres what scoop I can get from "Cover Sports" -- best I can tell Brent is in the hospital and his "workers" are running things.
I have asked them remake me a cover that fits better and they are REFUSING to. Wont let me return the cover - they said each of their covers are "custom made" and cant be returned. They did say I could send it back and they would make alterations to this existing cover to try and make it fit better....oh and they wont answer any phone calls -- they say they dont have a phone, just email ????? WHERE THE F*** is Brent and how can anyone run a business like this and treat people like this ???????????
I said: - so you want me to leave my brand new boat uncovered for 2-3 weeks while you try and patch some pieces on a cover to try and get it to fit ?
They said they would make me a new cover for a drastically discounted price of $450 which they said barely covers their material costs and they are currently "robbing peter to pay paul and can barely make rent" -- Heres the actual email from Brents person (and this is their exact email, copy and pasted)
"Hi Chris, Cover Sports here. These are custom covers so we have a "no return policy". however you may return the cover and we will make any changes that you request. We understand your boat storage situation and sympathise. So out of courtesy the best offer we can make you is a great discount on a new black cover. We have never offered a discount like this before, and it barely covers the cost of the material, and shipping [ 450.00 for a new black 230 cover cut to your exact specs ] And that is the best i can do, we can barley pay rent, always robing Peter to pay Paul. If that is not acceptable we have to stand by our original return policy. And we don't have a phone in the shop, just email."
My opinion, the way I am being treated on this, these people are Robbing me -- took my money and gave me a cover that doesnt fit...I am considering Suing Brent and Cover Sports and I will be continually posting new threads alerting people not to buy from these people....
If anyone knows Brent tell him he is wrong for doing this to a customer.....as you all can see my cover fits like SH*$ and they refuse to remake me a new one or return this one. Its total BU(( SHI$Last edited by ccs; 06-10-2012, 08:43 PM.__________________________________________________

I can't help ccs with his cover fitment problem but I have also watched this forum and seen his multiple posts regarding his fitment issues. I don't need a cover at this time but will in 1-3 years and have seen many threads stating how great Cover Sports covers are. I even considered buying one before it was absolutely necessary. Obviously that will not be the case at this point. I, and my friends with boats who don't necessarily follow this forum but get info from me on some things, will be very interested to see how this turns out though. It is interesting that my recollection is that even though the vast majority seem to love the cover, many if not most have always said things like "Brent is difficult to get in touch with, does not answer email/phone reliably, does not provide complete instructions etc."

I ordered one last fall and it did not fit on my 2004 SV-211. Same issue that all are having with Brent and coversports. Very hard to deal with and not willing to try to make things right with the exception of trying to make changes to the cover at your expense of shipping it back. Finally found someone that had a boat similar to mine and the cover worked for them and I just took mine and had a cover made to fit from the recommendations of my nautique dealer. Should have went that route last fall. Would have been a lot cheaper in the long run. Coversports make great covers but not easy to communicate with. Good luck! Coversports suck!!!

Order a new factory cover, once you have it send this one back for alterations and when it comes back sell it. You'll get some of your money back.

This is the fit of a CC full cover that came with my new 210 Byerly 2012. For me, it is very good, the overall quality seems excellent, time will tell about durability. Easy to set up, the only spot I would see water coming in is thru the pull out cleats cut-outs, just have a local shop add flaps with velcro and that would seal the deal. I just don't know the price of the cover by itself, must be expensive!!!!!

DJ --
thought about the factory cover but read on here cant tow with it on at all ? and someone had some problems with the cinching strap ?I rarely tow with a cover on anyway - but didnt want to limit myself. I will do everything I can to spread the word about Cover Sports and how I got screwed.
Looks like you have cutouts for the cleats ? did you have to request those or are they standard ?
Could you take several more pics of your factory cover ? sides, back etc. -- Thanks, appreciate it__________________________________________________

the factory cover comes with 2 support poles, one for the bow and one in the middle of the cockpit. They attach by straps fore and aft and have a piece of strapping that runs between them and up over the windshield to form a support for the cover. The cover also has 2 vents up top near the windshield that draw the cover down tight during towing. No water pools and whoever told you you can not tow with it is wrong. Unless the sun is shining bright I always tow with my cover on. For me it's like washing my car, no cover and you can guarantee a downpour on the trip home.
