I'm a first time boat owner, purchased a few months ago. We are in the process of adding a boat dock and I have some concerns over the depth of my lake where the dock is being built. The water depth around the dock seems to run around 4' to 6', however there's a ridge running along the shore just beyond the dock that varies from 2' to 4'. There's also a bit of vegitation (lillypads) growing over it. There doesn't appear to be an easy way to go around it. So my question is, will I be able create a channel through frequent use or do I need to look into having the area dredged. And, other than needing to clean the water screen/filter, what other concerns should I have. The lake is in the Orlando area FYI. Thanks!

I used to keep an 89 nautique in a really shallow lagoon type mooring area and never had a problem, we just cleaned the screen a lot like you said already.-Jon

This brings up a good question..
On your depth meter is the reading below the lowest point? or is the reading from another point? Just curious because if it reads 2 feet and its below the lowest point you should be ok right?Current Correct Craft Boat

From the factory it is set from the transducer (bottom of boat). You can adjust it to account for the rudder, it's in the book as to how to do that.Originally posted by lucky7t View PostThis brings up a good question..

Really! you have a moonraker yellow and midnight blue? From what I am told there was a VERY limited number made while moonraker was an option. I love it now after it grew on me.Originally posted by Uzj100 View PostSand bottom from what I can tell. I'm hoping after a while I should wear a channel. But I was concerned that maybe there would be another issue I hadn't thought of.

You should be fine. MOst lakes here in Orlando are sand or mud bottom. Make sure you check it good. As far as dredging, good luck in Orange County. From what I have researched, it's not allowed. It is amazing however, how much sand is moved by prop action.
just my .02

Same?
My wife hated the color. I like it, but I grew up a chargers fan!
