I'm heading up to northern Georgia for a week in July and I want to make sure I have all the parts, tools, etc that I need to make a quick repair if something happens. What do you guys normally carry with you when you take your boat somewhere?

A good set of tools that will cover any general mechanical repair. Spare Prop & Prop puller, especially if it's unknown waters. All the prerequisites to change a tire on the trailer (jack, spare, socket, breaker bar). I always have an extra fat sac pump should a factory pump fail. Sunscreen, beer and most importantly, hot chicks in bikinis.

my cellphone, since Whitelake Marine is right across the road. )
seriously, a basic set of tools.

Which lake are you going to? I always carry pretty much what the others on here suggest, a couple of spare parts that could get damaged and some basic tools and parts to do quick mends. I have fortunately never had to use any of them, but it's nice to know that they are there.

lately i've been having to mess with odd things so i just put whatever tool i used in my boat tool box. hopefully soon i can go buy some duplicates and not have to relocate home tools to boat and back. typically bring an extra impeller, prop, puller, strap wrench, floor jack, spare dust cap/screw on cover, torque wrench, engine oil, rag, goggles, good knife....

I think I have everything mentioned except for the spare prop. The last time I went on vacation in my old boat I had issues with the rudder, and even with all the tools I had it couldn't be fixed because I needed to remove the gas tank, etc. It sounds like I'm pretty well prepared for the little things. If not, I can always make a run to the store.

Bring a spare belt for the engine, I haven't broken one, but if you do, saves the hassle of trying to match it up at the local (or not so local) auto parts store.2008 230 TE-ZR6

Spare belt is a must. Impeller.... definitely. Even the impellers for the ballast pumps (if you have Jabscos). I have spare bimini clips, a full tool chest (all sockets, allens, plug pullers, etc.) A spare prop and puller, A spare piece of hose/pipe the diameter of the intake hose in case the inline filter breaks/fails with a few hose clamps. A spare tsunami pump in case a ballast pump fails. Underwater epoxy, underwater hose sealant tape. For longer trips I carry a few clamshells for under the swim step, PVC epoxy, extra PVC parts (spares for where the brass thru-hull connects with the hose, cheap to buy and it really sucks if they break), and a few extra three way switches for the ballast system (sucks when those go out and you cannot find a replacement). Also a spare lanyard/kill switch, and a spare three way switch for the on-off-bilge on control. Both of these tend to corrode at the electrical connections, so if the boat dies or does not start it may be one of the first and easiest places to look, FYI. I have a spare alternator (long story) which I also carry with me, jumper cables and a jumper box. And since I have a spare one, on longer trips a spare starter battery. I am sure I carry more, but for the most part I have a toolbox I carry in the boat to fix on the water problems, a milk crate/rubbermaid box for anytime I take the boat out (keep it in the truck, carries things I need if I can limp back to shore and repair on the dock or trailer), and a third rubbermaid container for when I go on longer trips or to areas where there is no store to run to in a reasonable distance. I keep the alternator etc in this container. I have never had to use it and hopefully never will. But when your 210 is the focal point of a several family trip, it would suck for it to go down. Also spare plugs (both spark and transom). Is that enough???Eric, Phoenix AZ
