? Increase Wake '94 SN CB

Just got my first Nautique and loving it. '94 CB. Here in Texas the weather and lake are perfect with a wet suit. I am wanting opinions on the safest and cheapest way to increase the wake size. Not really wanting fat sacs, but whatever you guys think. And also how much on each side of the motor and how much up front. I don't want to go overboard on this, just improve it.

    RE: ? Increase Wake

I use a 500 in the back and 3 - 4 people in the front. It makes a nice size wake for what most people need (intermediate spins and inverts). Every once in a while I'll throw an extra 150lbs of lead in the front, and 150 lbs of lead in the back and it does a nice job.
The boat is still really drivable, and quick to plane.
I just finished installing a tower this winter, so I'll have to play around with it this spring a bit. I'd imagine I'll probably have 2 more people in the back seats and the fat sack in the back. I'll probably put the 300lbs of lead in the front to balance it out a bit.
Just guessing though. Let me know what you find is best.

The only way to increase your wake is to add weight. Fat Sacs are the cheapest and safest way. Well.... 50# bags of sand are only about $3 each, so that's cheap, but then you have to haul it around. get a couple SL 540# lounges and put them on the sides of you engine box. Then you get ballast and added seating!

        What does CB mean?

        I have a 94 SN

I put around 400lbs of lead in shot bags aroung the rear gas tank. I have about 300lbs of plates under the floor up front. I use a 500lb sac in the ski locker and I have 400 lbs of nice lead bags with handles that I move around the boat. But most of it is under the rear seats.

I would like to have less lead in the boat. Trying to figure out how to accomplish that now.

My 95 was the same hull, just a different motor. I ran a 500 behind the motor, 300 under the bow, and more on the platform if I didn't have a full boat. Don't put too much in the bow handling gets really sketchy if you have too much in the boat or if you go over 2000lbs total. Total weight of about 1500lbs including passengers with most of the weight in the back running 23-24mph throws a pretty clean wake.

thanks for the advice. where did you get your strtaight line lounges? I found them on Bart's for $89 each. is that the best i will do? if so i will order from them. i may call the slalom shop today, but i doubt they can beat that. anywhere else i might check. i have never ordered anything from Bart's. is that the best place to order from? how long do the lounges take to fill for each of them? i will be getting pics up soon.

Call Buywake.com. They're much better. Tell them that Matt of Downside uP Productions sent you. Buywake.com is owned and operated by wakeboarders ( I know, I've ridden with them). I've never timed it, but I have an Atwood 750 on each of mine and they fill pretty quickly. I have plumbed in a semi-auto (more auto than semi) ballast system for the Lounges. They each have an A750 for filling and draining (4 pumps total) with hoses run in to the side ports at the bottom rear of the sack (the end closest to the rear of the boat).

Here's a link for the lounges at Buywake.com:

                      pix...

95 SNcb 1500lbs @ 24mph, it's a little bigger at 22-23mph but I prefer a little harder water that comes with a little more speed

There were also 3 sandbags on the back of the boat in a duffle bag.

What do you mean by "shot bag", sorry for the dumb question but I a French Canadian neighbor... LOL

I want to get rid of my fat sacs(3 x 500lbs + 1x 250 in the bow) they just take too much room in the boat. So lead is the best way I guess, since I am not planning on changing my '99 SNOB...

The only lead I found is tire balancing weight, if someone as a better option or idea I'd like to hear it since I am not really looking forward to melting all that lead... I'll have a nice wake and cancer to go with it...lol
