Ramlin Trailer Guides

Has anyone converted their Ramlin trailer guides from the old two poles and a block of wood to the newer single pole with the long pad? If so, what was needed to perform the conversion and/or where would I get the materials? The lakes here in Texas are way down and my boat had an encounter with the old style guide this past weekend while I was hanging off a hill that was labeled boat ramp! Here is a pic of my current setup:

That is not an original set up... a previous owner must have modified your trailer.

Actually I think it is. Do you have a 226? I believe they used the carpeted board instead of the pvc pole on that boat b/c of the wider beam. The pvc pole would have to be mounted to far out and would make the trailer too wide to be legal. I could be wrong though.

Probably correct.

I will say that the guide poles w/bolts and pvc and without pad are about 85 bucks each from Ramlin....delivered to your door. (I bought one about 3 years ago.)

For the other trailers, they bolt on w/2 bolts to a plate already there.

Maybe the plate is already there and you can drill through it.

You'll need to check that legal business.
