    River Monsters,

I use my ski 200 to wakeboard on a regular basis for my son. With a 250 lbs fat sac on each side of the engine all the way against the back it throws a decent wake. Certainly not a world class wakeboard wake but with the extra weight and hydro gate up it throws an acceptable wake. Some of the kids my son wakeboards with can do a number or different inverts off the wake.

Best part, dump the extra weight, remove the skyline and you still have a world class slalom wake. Cant do that with a sport 200.

I bought the Ski 200 OB.

      +++++:
      - fit and finish are improved from 12 years ago
      - more room
      - skis as good as my 196
      - smoother ride
      - more ski storage
      - more punch pulling a deep water start
      - nice stereo
      - alum mags, stern tie downs, disk brakes - nice trailer

      -------:
      - glove box is too small
      - no convenient place for gloves, boot lube (newt juice)

If you switch to hardshells then you wont need boot lube, and you can always attach your gloves to your binding straps on your ski's.

We use 400 lb sacs in our no wake zone closed bow. Either 2 sacs or 3 depending how many human sacs of water we have on board. Very nice wake, obviously not super air. Makes me think I'd be happy with a 200 ski. Never know until you buy on i guess. Improving kids have changing needs too i suppose depending what they are into for any given summer.

Nice weekend of skiing and the 200 performed really well. Same wake as my 196. Better pull out of the hole. Much better at handling chop.

A few problems: check engine light on, rear compartment latch broken - back to the dealer.

Something learned - the electric connect to the trailer needs to be connected when backing up or the trailer brakes lock. I always have removed the connector to keep it dry, but not with this trailer. CTW with disk brakes.

Factory horn is barely audible. Sounds more like a buzz than a horn. The dealer says that's the way they work and he's have warranty requests denied by Nautique. Is the horn supposed to be that lame?

Stand in front of the boat and blow the horn, it's louder than you think you just can't hear it from inside the boat. I thought ours was pretty lame first time I heard it too but it's actually not bad.

I agree. You will be surprised how far away it can be heard.

I heard the horn of a 200 from several hundred yards away last weekend... it turned my head.

When I first used my horn I also thought it was broken. I figured out that it was designed that way. The nice thing is that it is a much less annoying sound than the old horn, especially when your kids like to push the horn button over and over and over. >(

My friend's kid thinks that my boat does not have a horn. While it was my friend's recommendation that be told to his child, I will remain a willing accomplice.

Check engine light fixed but there is an ECM software update being made available next week. Dealer recommended the update and implied it may avoid a future check engine light issue.

I had them put on a black, silver bimini while in the shop.
