Hey Everyone,
First off all I just want to say Hi as I am a newbie to this site. I have been lurking here for a couple months as our family was looking at buying a CC. Well, we bought an SV211. The story is as follows;
My brother and I picked up our families brand new SV211 today. The drive to our dealer is about 2 1/2 hours. About a 1 1/2 hours into the trip we received a call from the dealer saying the boat has some damage!! He tells us that when correct craft installed the amps in the boat they must have used too long of a screw and the screw popped through the fiberglass. From the discussion with the dealer we were under the impression that it was inside the boat (walk through section). Obviously not what we wanted to hear but fixable and at least not on the haul. Upon arrival and looking at the boat we find out the damage is on the outside of the haul!!!!!!!! :shock: :shock: The screw didn't go all the way through, it looks like it pushed out the fiberglass which then caused the gel coat to come off in a half inch diameter circle. Still fixable, but not what you want to see on your brand new boat. Our question was how does a boat this expensive leave the factory with haul damage???(you can't miss it) You would think that Correct Craft has a QC check when the boat is finished. How could they miss something like this?? Correct Craft touts its quality, but then something like this happens. I have attached pics of the damage along with a picture of the boat. The picture of the damage isn't the greatest as my brother has the better pictures. Maybe he will post some better ones on here.
The dealer is going to pay for us to fix it and is going to have the VP of CC speak to my dad.
Overall, the quality of the rest of the boat is great and we think it just an unbelievable boat! Can't wait to get the damage fixed and hit the lake.
Eric
