Normally, when I see something like "Damage from factory!" I would immediately say don't take it and make them make you a new boat. That was how I felt when CC forgot to paint our tower blue...

But nowadays it takes solong to make a CC and that you a great CC TE with the ZR6 (way to go!) it is hard to not wanna take that badboy home and put it in the water. I am sorry to hear the bad news, but who knows, it may be a blessing in disguise. I mean, its all about what you think about it. If you don't think its a big deal, CC will gladly fix it for free of course, and that may be the end of it. If the repair works out in the end to your satisfaction, you will already have a great relationship with the VP of CC, and they will know you personally, that's great! You'd be way ahead of the game.

I hope they are not just doing it for free and throwing in some free T-Shirts, I'd at least hope for a couple K's off the boat.

Good luck! Hope all works out well.

The dealer was Hartick Marine. They are located in Delhi, IA about a 2 1/2 drive from the Quad Cities. Its a pretty small dealer/Marina. I guess they have been selling Nautques for 35 years.

That is not a screw poking through the fiberglass. Looks more like something ran into it.
Its hard to see in the picture, but in the middle of the hole you can see and feel where the screw pushed the fiberglass out causing the gel coat to come off.[/b]
Yeah it was actually Hartwick Marine and they were VERY helpful to us. We just wanted to see if others had any of these issues with there CC's.

My job this week is to find a really good gelcoat guy.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts. You may be right. The gelcoat may have come off after bouncing from Florida to Iowa! Good call.

Interesting...until CC updated their website I'd never even heard of them. It's funny that as I was driving to every state around Iowa looking for CCs I never heard mention of them once in all my searches. Just surprised me!

Did you order a TEAM without the AIR graphics on the side?
You drove the boat in water with exposed fiberglass and a small hole in the side? :???:

You can see the HULL not haul damage (darn Noob's) in the pics! LOL

Hey Mikeski, The boat is the team edition so yes we got everything but the heater. We opted for the 6.0 liter as well and are very impressed in it.

Wake_fun, I think the small hole is high enough above the waterline that no water can go in..
I'm with Holywood about the damage, I think it was not vissible at QC and that the gelcoat came of later (transport, cleaning at dealer)..

Enjoy the boat, it looks great!

Yes. We like the AIR graphic but were afraid it would date the boat after a while so we had them put the sport graphic on there. NO charge!

                  UPDATE

Well, as i write this by bro(2win) is hauling( i had to use this word, see previous posts) the boat back up to the dealer. We talked to CC and they told us we had to get it fixed by the dealer in order to make sure it was done correct and because of warranty issues. I guess for 2006 they are going to make some changes in the area were the amps are attached so this doesn't happen again.

Thanks for all your input and help on this.

                  AbunDiga909, were getting T-Shirts.

As my brother (IAHAWK) posted... Correct Craft has done a great job at making amends for the issues we have had with this boat. Unfortunatly the hole in the side isn't the only issue we had. The executive staff at CC has been VERY easy to deal with and the Dealer (Hartwick Marina) has also been very good.

I hope to have the boat back in about a week.

Thank you one and all for your support. I can tell this is a pretty good forum. It must be. It is a Nautique forum after all.

                    Cheers

                      skiing

                      Hey IAHAWK,
Nice boat. Bummer about the damage. I have an 87 nautique and live in the QC. Are you planning on skiing in the Mississippi? I ski their all the time. We also ski on the Rock River. Send me your e-mail address maybe we can hook up sometime.

                        All,

I too had hull damage when I received my new SV211. It wasn't screw damage but instead when the boat popped out of the mold there must have been a section that didn't come out right. I say this becuase it looks as if my boat was patched (instead of the midnight blue there was a section about 1 inches by 3 inches that was clear) right where the hull transistions from the side to the bottom amidship. I pointed this out to my dealer and they are going to fix it but I too felt this was something that should have been addressed by QA before leaving the factory. This is purely cosmetic but with the $$$$ we are talking my expectations are really high.

Well we got the boat back last Thursday 4-21 and must say they did a pretty good job fixing the gelcoat pop on the side. I can still see very small stress cracks around where the hole was so I am afraid that this will come back to haunt us later. The amps are barely being held on the boat now so I am debating on whether to make some of my own changes to make them mount better. If CC is reading this... you need to glass in a couple of small one by ones or something to screw these amps to.

I will now have to take it upon myself to fix it correctly. I am afraid the amps will pull out under the stress of there weight and large waves.

My dealer (Hartwick Marina) did a great job servicing us and I would recommend them to anyone in this area. CC has somewhat disappointed me since my expectations on a 57,000 dollar 21ft. boat were higher than may have been initialy met. Overall the boat is the best one we have ever owned and I am sure it will give us many hours of enjoyment.

Thank you one and all for your help.

                          Cheers

                            New SV211-Factory Damage

Deja Vue - I had the same thing happen to me. Correct Craft used a screw too long on my sub enclosure and it punched through when I tightened what I thought was a loose screw. Fortunately I have an awesome dealer. He had it fixed pronto. Correct Craft stood behind it. I do think they need to come up with a different mount application for the amps and the sub.

15 hours and holding. Ready for a 100 + hour summer.

I think I'd take the boat back at the end of the season and see if they can fix the cracks that you see. With a good gel coat guy almost any problem can be fixed to showroom condition. Also, you could leave the amps, and when they fall out let the dealer fix it...it's his problem. That said, I know why you'd like to fix it. I like to know things are done right on my boat and sometimes it seems easier to just do it myself.

Maybe I'm missing something, but if you have stress cracks, its not fixed. Are you saying you have stress cracks on the exterior of the hull? Sorry to be so dense.
