2WIN / IAHAWK, if it's same problem as Wakeup had, a tall rubber grommet can fill the space well. sounds like amp is not fitting to boat's side contour. OF

Not dense, and yes I am saying just that. They are VERY small and not noticable unless you are right up on it. Like 2-3 inches away.

Just today I removed the bottom prop/rudder guard from the trailer and bought 2 casters and am going to do what Ram-lin should do from the factory. :x Weld and gusset two brackets on the trailer and mount the casters so they will work on steep inclines instead of grinding metal.

      Cheers

Jeez, 2WIN, I would get those fixed. It's the little things that make the Nautique a stand out boat. I would insist on it being fixed like new.

SGY has a good point. PLUS, gel cracks can "travel" from the pounding the boat takes. Some will tell u differently, but I've seen cracks before & after a season of use. If u don't want to give up your boat until after the season, the dealer can use a VERY slight drill bit & "dot" the end of the crack(s) to prevent or minimize "travel". He could go very carefully into the gel & stop @ the fiberglass; then seal the "dot" w/ an appropriate color. All that said, maybe just hang a towel over the area

Yellow_Flash_Colorz: Cracks in the hull now maybe an oil pressure issue...This whole thing is getting very frustrating!!

I just noticed this thread. I've never seen an amp mounted by cc before. ( I had my stereo done after we took delivery ) Does CC actually mount the amp to the hull wall without an amp board?

Unfortunately yes! Exactly what I said. I think CC needs to get profesional stereo installers involved in there decision making.

I can't believe that. what are those guys thinking. If I owned that boat I'd take it to someone that knew what they were doing and have it redone.

Actually, the area behind the amp/sub is not just the bare hull side. There is actually material laminated into the hull side for this exact purpose. I agree that the screw tip prob. was just pushing against the glass enough that it didn't show until the boat had bounced around a little in shipping. Hope you get it all fixed up and they take good care of you!

Ok then why are the amps loose? This isn't right and it bothers me to no end, knowing the amps will pull out of the boat at some time.

                      Cheers

The amps may be loose because the screw is too long or it has poss. stripped out the hole. If it is too long try a 3/4 or 1/2 inch screw. If it is stripped out, take out all the screws move the amp over 1/2 inch and screw it back down. If you get a chance measure the screw, if it is a 3/4" you may want to use a rubber grommet before mounting it back down. Let me know if any of this helps.

Could you glass in some mounting brackets?

That is what I want to do! Get some West Systems epoxy and fiberglass and make some changes to the way there mounted.

                            Cheers

Sounds reaonable to me. I would even call CC and get some of that resin material blocks they use and glass that in with some matting and AME resin. The material I'm talkinga about is around 3/4 inch thick and comes in blocks. Call Woody at SE CC in Orlando. He'll know. It's the same stuff they use for bracket material under the gunwale to hook the wire conduit to. Take a look with a flashlight and you'll see what I'm yapping about.

Ouch, not sure I would have taken delivery of the boat until the repair was made. I had two screws drilled through my hull by a stereo shop. This was after I told them not to mount any equipment on the hull. They fixed it and did not charge me for the install but I can see where the repair was made. It was hard for them to match due to the age of the boat. I went ballistic when the guy at the shop told me of the damage. I normally do all the work on my own boat for just this reason. Hope they do a good job matching the gell coat. I am sure they will!
