    Aft Tow Point 2000 SAN

O.k. dumb question, but I have a 2000 SAN and it has a tower, pylon, and what looks like a round tow point on the top of the stern that seems like a tow point for inflatables. Is this tow point strong enough to pull a 3 person inflatable with 3 adults or should I use the tow pylon. For some reason I feel like it is designed just to tie inflatables on as a storage/empty transport.

I don't see it mentioned in the manual.

    Thanks in advance.

That is the lifting eye. I have used it to tow a single tube on my 85 with no I'll effects, but that is getting excessive. It is designed for vertical loads not lateral.

I dont think it is the lifting eye. Here is a blurry picture of it. It is very different than the lifting eye in the front and I believe the stern eyes just below the transom are the lifting rings in the back. Structurally it looks like a low profile tow point (about 1 in high, flat top, and a concave side to hold a tow rope). I will try to get a better picture.

Looks aftermarket, maybe the previous owner? I do believe that's where the original lifting eye was and it has now been replaced by that tow point. If it is in fact where the eye was, yes it should be strong enough. I'd wait for some others to tie in who have owned or do own that boat.

That is the factory tow point. There is not a single rear lift point. It has two eyes for lifting

x2.... Towing from the pylon (behind rear seat) helps keep the rope from dragging and spraying your riders!

That is NOT a lifting eye. The lifting eyes are below the swim step behind those plastic covers.

You can tow the tube from that round tow point.
