i am getting ready to purchase a 2005 226 SANTE for $42,000. the boat is in EXCELLENT condition and has 150 hours on it. i am a 42 year old father with a family of 4. we will be riding, skating, and surfing behind this boat as well as just cruising around a very large lake. so, i am looking for a "do it all" kind of boat. is this the right boat? is that a good price? any other concerns?

don't expect much out of the ski wake and you'll be fine. My 211 is perfect for a family of four plus the occasional friend, and you'll have a little more room. If it's truly as you describe (always sceptical, sorry) then it sounds pretty good.

I recently purchased a 2007 226 myself. I also have a family of four that enjoys cruising, wake and surf. I was looking for a Nautique that would fill the order for sports and cutting through chop on the lake we frequent. The 226 does everything I could ever ask of it while providing a ton of room and a great ride. If I knew about the 226 years ago I would have found a way to buy one. Just don't expect to ski behind it. Hope this helps in your decision. Good luck!

you can ski behind it..... Just don't plan on crossing the wakes at 32mph.... lol
Should be a great boat! Just make sure you have all the maintenance done, and winterize it every year and it should be great.
And always remember the BOAT means, bring out another thousand... lol
