I have no experience with the 1617, but ran the 1235 on my 2008 210 and it was an incredible upgrade in every way (I did not own the boat long enough to see if the gel burn ever showed up prop was only on there for 4-5 months). I think the gel burn issue is a small price to pay (if it does happen) for the vast improvement in performance associated with the 1235. If prop burn is a concern for you, then I guess the 1617 is worth looking into - just not much out there about this prop on 210's.....the 1235 appears to be the prop of choice for upgrading the 210 (ACME told me this is hands down the best prop for a 210 and that even Nautique runs the 1235 on their 210s that they keep around the factory).
