Can't get in the driveway

HELP!!!! Bought a 97 SNOB, and I can't get it up my sloped driveway, because the prop guard scrapes. I hate to let it sit in the street. It never occured to me that this would be a problem. The trailer is a 97 Shoreland'r single axle. Would wheels on the prop guard do the trick? Anyone else have this problem? Desperate for a solution ASAP!!!!!!!!!

Wheels on the prop guard should fix your problem. If you haven't already, try backing in at an angle. I had to do that with my old boat.

How bad does it scarpe? The prop guard is very strong and is made for this purpose. It should be ok to put a little bit of weight on it and let it just scrape a little bit. Or is it too steep where it just can't go up the driveway?

I bought the wheels from an MC dealer and got some scrap metal, cleaned it up and welded the brackets on and bolted the wheels to the brackets. Works great!

I'd check with your trailer manufacturer. I know dorsey makes them. I believe Ram-Lin does as well.

Also you can lay down some plywood on the ground to make the ground slope less, this is how my uncle must do it in for his 88 MasterCraft Tri-star.

Ask your local boat dealership where to get wheels for the prop guard.

Sorry Jeff, but Ram-Lin does not offter prop guard rails, but they should. We would have gotten them if they offered them b/c we too have a clearence problem. Instead, Dave was very nice and worked with us and gave us a custom prop guard that was higher than the others, to give us a couple inches more clearence.

All Ram-Lin prop guards are the same. They are one size fits all, so they don't have to make one per model. In other words, they are all 226 prop guards b/c they all have to fit that model. Obviously ours is a lot smaller, so he had room to play with and made our guard a 216 guard, not a 226 guard.

Well, that's good to know. I guess I won't get prop guard wheels on my next trailer from the manufacturer, since I'll probably get another Ram-Lin. They should offer them though. I bet they'd be a popular option.

Nope! Ram-lin doesn't! I have to remove my guard and make my own :x
I think it's bull! I had to put 2by10's on the ground and drive the trailer over them to get it up my driveway.

Not happy about that at all.

If it's not that bad you can put a lower drop hitch lowering the front - raising the back. Also make sure the tires are at max inflation.

Thats how I had to do it. I used a few 2x4s and 2x6s. Only a few times though, its a pain in the ***. But works well in a pinch.

We keep it in storage now so its not an issue anymore.
