Looking to make the jump..230 or 210?

Ok so Im looking to make the jump to a SAN from my 2011 tige 22ve. Ive driven the 230 and was pretty set on it but Ive created somewhat of an interest in the 210. Curious in any opinions of one vs the other...wake, room in the boat, etc? I doubt Ill go for a 409 engine if that helps in your advice. One concern was just going down in size from my current 22' to the 210. Also if i opt for the 230 is the 343 enough to enjoy good wakeboarding and surfing? Thanks a ton for any and all help!

I have heard that the 230 without the 409 makes it a bit difficult to use the boat to the fullest extent. No direct experience, just what I have hear so i very well may be wrong. I have a 210 with a 343 and it is perfect. I can take seven people out on it, two large coolers, etc. without feeling too cramped. I used to have a larger boat, and I usually ended up with ten or so people, four or five which only wanted to stay on the boat all day. I have had a much better time owning a boat since I have been able to take fewer people, and everyone has gotten involved. just my 0.02

I have an 09' 230 with the 343 and am perfectly happy with it. I can add about 700-1000# over factory ballast and IMO it does fine. I also am not a fan of closed cooling. Just my preference.

I have owned three 210 boats . It's nice to park and with the 343 hp its plenty. I really like the 230 but didn't see a reason as I only have 5 people max

I had a Tige 22V and had to make the same decision. Normally everyone suggests getting as much boat as you can. My crew (family) was getting smaller and I didn't feel that I needed the 230, nor did I want to tow that extra weight around and burn more gas. So, I went with the 210 and have never regretted it. There are a few times a year it would be nice to have a bigger boat, but we manage and I love my 210. You can't go wrong with either, go with what fills your needs best.

I personally like the 230 better, but I am a wake junky, so that is pretty much the basis of my opinion. The 230 wake will get much bigger, harder and more lippy, but you have to ride with about 4000 pounds of weight at 25.5-26.5 mph.

Thanks a ton for all the advice yet Im still back and forth of course. Im a somewhat new wakeboarder so I typically ride in my current 22ve around 20mph and the wake at least from the reg rider's side is nice...goofy not so much. In my research im finding that most are having to run the 230 at a higher speed (25+) to achieve a great wake. Is this the same for the 210? I know this will probably be a huge split but base on wake alone (wakesurf/wakeboarding) how do these compare? I dont plan on really weighting the boat aside from the factory ballast except for wakesurfing. And anyone who's been in both, is the 210 that much smaller inside the boat? Im hoping to check out a 210 at some point this week.

I have a 2009 SANTE 230 with the 343hp engine. I also have additional ballast sacks. I surf and wakeboard, and have had up to 14 people in the boat without a problem (16 is max capacity). I am considering selling the boat if you're interested. Unfortunately, I think it's the best financial decision for me right now. It only has 135+ hours. I see you're in Birmingham...only 2hrs away from Chattanooga if you're interested. My buddy has a 2012 SANTE 210. He loves it, but admits that the 230 produces a much better wake for both surfing and wakeboarding. Let me know if you might be interested.

I've spent quite a bit of time in both the 210 and the 230, here's my $0.02. 210 produces a great wakeboard wake w/stock ballast, gets better with a Fly-hi add on. The surf wake is good, but you will need at least 400# extra in the rear locker, and it's better on the goofy side, but, both sides surf well.
230, stock wake with ballast is great, cleans up as low as 19 mph, and is my favorite wake I've ridden thus far. I typically ride 22-23 mph, the only situation which would require riding faster would be with a lot of extra weight. Even with an additional 2200# over stock, wake was clean @22.5mph. (3 in boat, 1 riding).
(210 was my absolute favorite before we got a 230). We really enjoy the extra room of the 230, and my wife LOVES the walkthrough transom feature. My friend with a 210 says the 230 feels way bigger inside than his boat.
Surf wake on the 230 is very good both sides, a little better goofy side also. I have 750#'s in the rear compartments for surfing which you'll need to make a good wave, along with something in the ski locker, I have the arrow sack which is rated to hold 625# I think.

Coming from a Tige 22v, the 210's interior may feel small to you, my opinion is the 230 is bigger inside than the Tige.

How many people are commonly on board? Do you ever slalom ski?

I wish the 210 had the SANO walkthrough on the Sun Pad- having small kids that love to jump in and get out and jump in and get out. Sundeck on 210 takes lots of water and foot steps that concern me of slipping etc.

Cant even remember the last time ive skied. Most of the riding done on the boat is dedicated to wakeboarding in addition to other recreations (tubing, etc). I have the factory surf setup in my tige which wasnt enough weight and never had enough people in the boat to create a good enough wave to surf. So ive attempted to surf but with little success. Im sure im going to need to add some piggy back weight to achieve what i need to surf no matter which boat i choose.

And as for the number of people some days we may have 6-9 and some it may just be the gf and myself...along with two 90lbs boxers.

230 trumps 210 in every regard in my opinion. the storage on both boats is pretty bad though the 230 is obviously better being the bigger boat. 230 produces a much better wake and surf wave in my opinion. couldnt be happier with it.
