Lid to battery container calls for a BCI 78 size battery. Went shopping and none of the marine starting batteries I looked at were that size. All BCI 24, 27, 29 & 34. Any suggestions? Fried battery is an unmarked marine battery. Second battery is a BCI 78 Interstate Workaholic, which is heavy duty, but not a marine battery. I understand batteries... i.e., lead acid vs. agm, starting battery vs. deep cycle. Just not clear on what size to get for the Nautique.

I just replaced my battery in an 05 sv211 with a group 24 marine deep cycle and it is working perfectly. The sizes of the groups are pretty close and there is lots of room in the battery compartment of my boat. If you have a battery box that might make a difference. The most important thing getting enough marine cranking amps. I went to the Batteries Plus in my area and picked up a nice one for a good price. I think it is around 900 marine cranking amps. Boat starts nicely with this setup.
