    Reality Check

After a weekend of what seemed to be “amateur hour” I had a pleasant reality check.
After a pontoon pulling a tube in a huge S pattern up the river, and turning directly into my path while pulling a boarder, then acting as if I did something wrong. ( this person last year broad sided an ’84 freshly restored nautique @ dusk ejecting 2 of its 4 passengers, 1 a little kid.)
Then, a fully loaded Tige giving rides, passing us repeatedly with the nose straight up in the air while we were all tied off. 3 of our boats bouncing all over the place violently and this guy just waved every time he passed. Clueless.
Then, The boat patrol (fish fuzz). Wow these guys just need to stay home. While putting back to the dock yesterday, going down river on the right side, he was going up river on the wrong side full steam ahead. I saw him coming right for me as I chose to just hold my line. This idiot finally saw me and turned sharply across the river to the correct side. I should have pulled HIM over.

But then, Just as im ready to pull my hair out, I see this! Not common in Western PA at all. The events of the ignorant nubes and I/O weekend warriors quickly evaporated and I realized again why I am out here on the water. Wish I had better pics.

Nice. Next time the tube goes by throw a fish in it. Maybe this guy will give them a scare. LOL

Long distance water balloon launcher mounted on the tower. If they are really persistent, then use fruit or in the worst cases, frozen balloons. Kidding, sort of

That's awesome. I also got very lucky this year and got to see 2 bald eagle and 2 osprey's go at it in the air. It looked like they were fighter planes dog fighting. I'd never seen eagles doing rolls and stuff like this. It was the most amazing thing I've seen on the lake to date. Bald eagle eventually stole the ospreys meal!

Scott, your "adventure" that day reminds me why I mostly ride early sat mornings, rarely sunday's. Our water temps are above 85 now and the tubers are starting before 10 am!
Just curious, are you going to Cincy for the Nationals? We are, should be great!

Two nights ago on our lake, we saw a bald eagle steal a fish that another smaller golden eagle had just caught. Then he went after the golden in flight, and beat the crap out of it. I've never seen anything like it before! It was like Animal Planet live!

That's funny. One of my elderly neighbors sprinkles out bird seed in her driveway each morning. you can't put out a feeder or the rats will show up.

So getting ready to pull away for work, I see this squirrel making his way to the morning grub and a small songbird swoops in and smacks said squirrel on the head. It catches him by surprise, but he continues for the seed. The bird (barely bigger than the squirrels head) comes in again and again and drives the squirrel over the fence to the neighbor's yard. I thought that was amazing.
