Hole in my boat where top deck connects to the hull!

I took my '97 Super Sport out for the first time this year and when we dropped the boat in the water, I was looking under the back sunpad to make sure we had everything hooked up ok and nothing was leaking. Well, I noticed water running in back by the port side corner where the hull and top deck connect. It was also leaking where the back gasket is where the swim step sets against the back of the boat.

We took the rub rail off and found that there was no silicone sealant in those spots where the hull connected to the top deck. I can't believe this would deteriate like that. I could actually look into the hole from the outside of the boat and see right into the inside of the boat. Has anyone else ever had this happen? It's a good thing that I was looking back there because it was leaking pretty good and we would of had a boat full of water in no time. Should I just use silicone sealant to seal it back up now?

I had the same problem with my MC.I just resealed it and forgot about it. I guess the sealer just didn't stick in that spot. Probably wasn't cleaned properly at the factory.

Use either 3M 4200 or 5200 to seal that area and clean the area bood before sealing the area.
