Pics look great! The wake looks very similar to 206. As you said...the added versatility would be really nice.

Can't wait to get a ride behind one. Will probably seriously consider in a year or two.

6.5 hrs on lake what sounds like a hard day for a boat, what was your fuel consumption 3/4 tank? Trying to get an idea of what to expect on inboard vs not perfect but does the trick I/Os

          pokesgrad02,

That time includes anchoring for lunch and just hanging out watching the crazies in the afternoon. I purposely try not to track my fuel consumption too closely, but its probably less than 3/4 for a day like that.

You can probably figure about 5gal/hr when you are out playing on the boat. Maybe alittle more if really sacked out or pulling a tube!

You have to ski this boat short line--15' off is actually pretty terrible, but I will agree 28' off is quite nice.

I completely agree, I got a chance last weekend to ski behind a friend of a friends 200V and the bump at 15' off is huge in comparison to my 196. I then jumped to 32' off (i think) as thats where the big boys were running at 36mph and the wake on the 200V was great! This weekend i will run at 32 off @36 on my 196 for another comparison point.

My wife and I checked out a '13 200V at the Rogers, MN dealership last weekend, and it sure is a great looking boat in person (up close). It has a lot more room than I expected. One question for you guys, does the rope get hung up on the back, over the engine? It looks like it could get stuck between the two storage compartments. I used to get the rope stuck in the crotch of the trunk of my 196's, and this looks much worse. Also, when the pylon is installed, it seems a little wobbly. Is that just the one at the dealership, or are they all like that?

I can definitely see how serious slalom skiers end up buying one for the family. Now I'd just love to drive and ski one!

In two years of ownership we've never had the rope get caught between the cushions. They fit pretty tight. The pylon does have a little play in it but as soon as there is pressure on it, it's solid as a rock. Try the boat. We absolutely love ours. Added two 450 bags in the back. Wake surf is now amazing for a 20 foot boat. They tie right into the overflow hose so once the tanks are full, they fill. Pretty slick.

                        Dinsdale,
Assuming you have the 343 engine, what are seeing for top end speed, and what are your 34mph rpm's? I'm going to assume they're similar, if not the same as the DD 200.

                          SWC,
We haven't had any issues with the rope catching. The pylon is a bit wobbly, but under load there are no problems. If your ever in MPLS I'll give you a pull--we are on Medicine lake. We had a 206 before, and this boat just does everything well--surf, ski, board. However, line lengths greater than 28 are not ideal.

                            Dinsdale,
Can you explain the ballast bags you added a bit further? I like the idea that you have it tied into the regular "system". Was this pretty easy to set up? Filling extra bags and moving them around for port or starboard surfing is not fun...

I just did the same thing, 2-400 lb sacks sit on top of the hard tanks, plumb them into your hard tank overflow to fill and hook the vent to the top of the bag. I used the quick disconnects so I can remove to service the engine. Only small issue is if you use user settings on the linc the bags are not recognized, you will need to fill them with the manual ballast controls. Not a big deal but sort of negates the simplicity of user settings. We also put an 1100# bow sack up front and fill it about 1/2 full, this along with the 400 on each side and all hard tanks full puts out a substantial wakeboard wake. For surfing we fill hard and bag on one side plus the hard belly and about 1/2 of the bag up front, surf wake is very nice with that set up.

Top speed around 40 mph. Never checked the rpm's at 34.
