Ballast and MAX weight in boat

Ok, I have a 2012 SANTE 210. As you know it comes with factory ballast of about 900 lbs. For Wakeboarding we found filling the rear ballast puts up the best wake (keeping the belling empty). This equates to about 600lbs of ballast and we have about another 800-1000lbs of heavy men in the back of the board. My questions is this, everyone talk about adding FATSACs to the board but I'm already between 1400-1600lbs in the boat. The tag on the boat states a MAX weight of 1850lbs. Everything I read about boarding and surfing say NEVER over exceed the MAX weight. So how am I gonna add two 750lbs FATSACs if I'm already only 250-450lbs from MAX? I'm guessing everyone will say ignore the tag but really?

    Thanks
    Roger

Really? Nobody has an idea of the MAX weight versus adding FATSACs? I'm surprised!

No, everyone knowns that when you are fat sac'd out you are running over manf spec. Every manf will tell u not to exceed for safety (and per their lawyer).

You don't have a problem with porpousing? We have an 08 210 (same hull), and with our boat configured the way you say, the bow dances like a mexican jumping bean. 1400-1600 lbs all towards the rear is extremely unbalanced.

I rode behind a 2011 210 with 3000lbs of evenly distributed ballast that had a nice wake.

Dealer told me the max weight excludes the factory ballast so you get your 900 plus the 1850. That said you will still run over weight depending upon how many men are in the back. I would add some women to the front to balance out the boat, we affectionally call them OB's...Ornamental Ballast.

Here! Here! get some OB's. I have no problem calling my friend "fat sacks" as I would prefer never to say "heavy men" in regards to who I have on my boat.

As for the question, I don't know if there really is an answer. You lose a margin of error every time you add another pound. I have a 99 SN and I regularly have 1500 pounds of ballast. That is well above the limit on the tag. I happen to live on a private lake so I don't have to worry about getting swamped by somebody else. It's a bit difficult to manuever but I only have the course to contend with.

The other day I had almost 4000lbs in sacs, ballast, and people. It's an 05. They can take weight as long as you pay attention when driving/stopping.

Thanks all especially Swankster! I'll add extra ballast since the factory ballast are not part of the weight limit and then I'll add some Ornamental Ballast!

                  Thanks again to everyone!

BTW I was told that CC is the only manufacturer that excludes the factory ballast in the weight limit calculation. The G23 holds 2850lbs of ballast and 2500lbs people and gear. If these were not seperate limits then one could over-weight the boat with just the ballast.
