    Any ideas for boat lifts?

I have a 2001 SAN in the Portland, OR area. I'm looking to purchase a boat lift. What are the top brands/models to consider?

Need a little more info. Do you have a dock ? Do you have electricity ? Any plans to cover it ? What's your budget ? We have a 5K lb Hydra Hoist shallow water lift. Does a great job. Cost was around $ $ 6500 delivered and installed.Click image for larger version

Do you need a floating (air) type of lift? A couple of different options, best I've seen are Rotolift because of the construction, and no metal in the water. Drewlift would be a good option as well, not as well known, but well built.
The companies out of the Lakes of the Ozarks area seem to have it figured out.
IMHO, Hydro Hoists are overpriced for their content...

If you have a permanent boat house and have fixed overhead hoist points, you can use a Doozie Boat Lift. That's what we have. I see they also sell kits on Overtons.com. They require electricity and a boathouse with access to somewhat constant water levels.

The best lift for the money I've seen is a Craftlander. I really like Shorestations too, but their pricing is getting out of hand. Plust their canopies have a really good design for attaching the canvas.

i just paid $3,500 for a used 5000lb capacity shoremaster with canopy, cover, guide on's, and adjustable cradles. huge pain to go get and set up...i then paid another $400 for long legs from lift to canopy to raise up so as to not have to lower tower.

wish i could put something permanent in water, but have to take in and out each season.

I wonder if there are any overhead make lifts that would use lift rings that can be put in and out of water each season. probably steel instead of aluminum and then too heavy....just don't know.

Lifts are very regional, Texas we use floaters or overheads do to all our lakes are man made and have muddy bottoms for the most part.

I am planning to install a overhead lift for my 2007 SV 211. Any suggestions on where the boat should sit relative to the rear lift cable?

The rear lift cable should be at or near the front of the engine.

We love our Sunstream floatlift. We are in MN and don't have a permanent house and must remove docks and lifts seasonally. That is why the floatlift is a good option for us.
