    Tower Question

I bought a 226 LE the other day and it has a Monster Tower with board racks on it I think I got a pretty good deal on the new boat and trailer. I saw in the classifed section that there is someone selling a Flight Control tower for the 226. My question is should I replace my Monster Tower with the Flight Control tower? I dont plan on selling the boat any time soon but i am sure at some point I will; do you think it will effect the price I could by having the Monster Tower instead of the Flight Control tower? He is asking 2k for the tower, board racks, and a light bar, I think its a little high and plus I have to ship it. Plus I am sure I will have to repair one if not all the locations where the monster tower is now. I am sure I wont be lucky enough to get the FC tower to cover up the location holes of the MT. Another thing is that I will have to have the cover that came with the boat modified to fit around the monster tower, where as if I had a FCT I could just buy one from any Nautique dealer. One thing I noticed on Monster tower's web page is the make a Bimini top that doubles as a cargo holder for Surf boards or a tube seems like a cool idea. No matter what i do I will need to add a bimini top and tower speakers. WHat are your thoughts?

The monster cargo rack can fit on many towers.

It has to be a lot more money to switch towers than to modify the cover. I would keep the Monster and use the money to upgrade the sound system and bimini rather than change towers.

Amen! Your boat has a tower that works. I would allocate The funds elsewhere, i.e. ballast, boards, etc... If you find the tower doesn't meet your needs down the road then make the switch. I am sure you will find it isn't the case, the MT will do everything you need it to.

Ordered 2) 750lbs and 1) 350 fat sacks from Wake Makers 3 ballest pups and 3) 1" through hull fittings I plan to put the 2 larger fat sacks in the rear locker and one smaller one in the belly. I am hoping to find the factory wiring so I can use the push buttons on the dash insead of the supplied rocker switches.

I still say the tower is fine and your head the right way with your money. It's fun spending other peoples money. :-)

got all the interior out today to start the ballest system. I also ran all the speaker wires and power wires for the lights through the tower tonight. WHAT PAIN IN THE A$$. Now time to go buy an amp.... 200 watts at 2ohms nothing huge but should sound good enough for now.
