Supposed 06 Line up for "Air Nautiques"

Super Air 210 - unchanged apart from cosmetic & mechanical enhancements
Super Air 220 - all new. Based off 210 but completely new hull, deck etc
SV Air 211 - unchanged apart from cosmetic & mechanical enhancements
Super Air 230/240 (unsure on classification) - hull is same as 226, all new deck to strectch this out to a 24 ft monster... this will cater for all the "Bigger is Better" buyers

The 206 & 216 will be dropped form the Air line up & will only be able to be bought as a ski/sport variant. I beleive towers & ballast will not be an option, but this is unconfirmed.

Can't wait to see what actually is released... shouldn't be too long now...

Looks like CC is heading in the same direction MC went--about 5 or 6 wakeboard boats and only about 1 or 2 slalom boats....

I can't believe that about the 206 and 216 though... Are they saying I can't get a tower and tanks, or wakeboard, behind a DD?

          2. 909, thought you already have a boat?

OF, yeah... But I'm saying for instance if I didn't, and want to upgrade to the newer version of my boat--DD crossover, I can't do that anymore. Let's say I didn't buy an '04 and was going to buy in '06, now I have to get a VD... I don't think CC should not let people get Air DD's, there's still a market for them...

but keep in mind, it's all rumor. Like the new plant, believe it when u see it (tho CC is working on permits as we speak i have been told). i do NOT think Ozzie's info is exact. No mention of new towers, & few other items that seem to change every yr or so. Plus, the original SPort Naut ('89) grew into the Air; the dealers' input will effect decisions made there. They do listen to their dealers AND ESPECIALLY w/ this (Mc)new guy. He did that a lot @ SeaRay, so i've heard

Guys, just cause I am down under & half way around the world, does not mean I am any less enthusiastic about my Nautiques or finding out what is going to be happening in 06. I have my own reasons for finding out what is happening in 06 and for those alone I am doing a lot of checking up on what is happening... In any case the world is such a small place now, Orlando may as well be the next suburb along for all intensive purposes.

I do beleive the majority of the information i posted is accurate, particuarly in relation to the boat line up, but you will notice I used "supposed 06 line up". I think until you see it up in lights on the Nautique website or in their 06 brochure nothing is final. As for other changes I was informed of for the entire range of boats is a new wireless throttle system incorporating sensors & servo motors much like the system found in MC. Another big maybe is the use of a new full electronic controlled ballast system with valves that, what for it... actually work. I was unsure if this system will be offered as part of the helm control upgrade for the LE & TE boats or a std fitment when ballast is optioned.

As for the dropping of the DD line up from the 'AIR' range, I think this could just be a shift in marketing strategy for CC. I was under the impression from my discussions that a DD boat will not be offered within the AIR range, but availability of towers/ballast systems was still under review. Really though, this type of a decision can be made at the eleventh hour, as they are not looking at fundamental changes to the boats design, purely add ons that require no further development. This decision was still on hold pending feedback from the dealer network.

But lets look at the proposed/supposed 06 AIR line up with a bit of common sense:

SAN210 - The boat that has given CC a lot of it's rep in the wakeboarding world. It is the undisputed champion of the rider's world. When you have something dialed in so well are you gonna drop it form your line up... no. The boat fits perfectly into it's target market & I beleive no major change is on the cards for this model until 2008.

SAN220 - Is the market asking for a purebreed wakeboard boat with just that little bit of extra space for extra crew members? I think so, why else is the new VLX doing so well... SO what are you going to do about it? You design a new boat that incorporates all that is good about the 210 including some of its unique styling that has the extra space the market has been asking for... The 211 goes close to this ask but does not really fit the bill & is targeted to a different market.

SAN/AIR 24 - the 226 by CC's own admission has not held it's own in the big boat market against the likes of the Wakesetter LSV or Tige 24V despite being an excellent offering. So how do you get a slice of the market that wants the maximum amount of boat without going to too much expense. You design a new deck for the hull that strectches the boat out for more interior space...

AIR SV 211 - To new to warrant any change and the boat is performing perfectly within it's target market. It's giving all those who want the V-drive space but the versatility of a boat without having a slalom or wakeboard dedicated hull.

Now putting the DD issue aside, does that range cater for nearly every possible buyer.. it makes sense to me...

Ozzie, #1 - this lineup idea sounds pretty good - gotta give u ur "kudos" (old word, today u call it "props"). #2-the way Orlando is spreading out, we may be neighbors in a few years. OF

All you gotta do is go to any crowded lake and see how many 22-23 ft wakeboard boats are out there to understand why a 220 would be a very marketable boat. Personally, I want a 21' thats easy to add extra ballast too and can hold 6 comfortably while sessioning. The 210 does it for me. People want that pure V-drive look, like the VLX, X-2, 210, X-star, etc, and they want some shiny sporty things to go on their boat with styling towers etc. CC put that nice polished tower on the new 210's, and most people buying a new one have it.

Why would CC build a new factory and not have some new model's in mind??

Good post Ozzie, it's fun to read it and I am sure all of us here will be drooling when a 220 or 230 with all the bling hits' the water.

                            YOU GUYS ARE KILLING ME!!

Every year, everyone wants the inside scoop. The Skunk Works at CCI, known as Product Design and Development is like Fort Knox. When they want you to know something about the new stuff you will. Having worked inside the Nautique family, we pride ourselves on keeping new projects quiet. Yes there is a new boat comming out of the barn. Yes as far as I know it's called the 220. By the number designation you can probably make out that it is 22' long. And that is about all you will hear. Until...someone takes delivery of one, or there is an official press release. I think the guys in PD&D have been working very hard on something that we will all like. The factory will be gearing up for 06' production here shortly, so be patient, the answers to your questions are around the corner! Yellow_Flash_Colorz:
