I have been having major issues getting warranty parts and I am trying to figure out if it is Nautique or my dealer. I have various parts that my dealer tells me were submitted for warranty work in April and a few more in June. I have only received one of these. Has anyone else been waiting months for warranty items or is my dealer feeding me a line of BS?

I had to replace a skin recently. I ordered one from Nautique Parts and waited for the skin to be made/shipped by Correct Craft. Once received it was the incorrect lower color. Townsend quickly contacted Correct Craft and they agreed to produce another skin with the correct colors this time, as the other was an mistake. Couple of days went by and the next phone call from Townsend was to inform me Correct Craft had actually discontinued the gray color used on the lower portion of the skin. This call came after I previously received a call stating the battery cover carpet for my 226 had also been discontinued since the supplier lost the pattern. My boat is a 2007 still under warranty and parts are discontinued! I am extremely disappointed in Correct Craft! I just purchased this boat in June and I am not pleased with the level of service and support provided by the factory. Nautique Parts is easy to deal with and they communicate well. Correct Craft is another story at this time!2007 Nautique 226 TE

I think a lot of time its the venders CC use that are slow coming up with the warranty part, it took almost 6 month for me to get a new leg for my tower that cracked, it was never an issue that it was warranty. it was just the vender that kept making excuses of why it was not sending the part to white Lake ,once white Lake got the leg it was replaced at my convenience.2013 G23 super air

There could be a more than a couple of reasons for the long time for parts to arrive. A lot of parts Correct Craft uses on their boats are not made by Correct Craft, they are made by outside suppliers. It costs money to make these parts, and it costs money to have them sitting in a warehouse, waiting until somebody needs then, if ever. In the days when we had regional Correct Craft service centers, sometimes the service center would stock the part. With the service centers gone, that no longer happens. This was though to be a cost saving change, but if anything, it only slowed down the rate of new boat prices increasing.
I do not know if this is true, or not, but when Correct Craft was owned by the Meloons, it seemed to me there was more attention paid to having parts available for the older boats. Now it seems that attention has slipped a bit, maybe the thought process is that if people cannot get parts for an older boat, they will buy a new one. Again, I do not have any actual data to back that up, it just seems that way. Used to be could order upholstery skins from Correct Craft, now that is farmed out. Same idea with decals.
Another reason is the boat business has had a hard few years, and it may that a supplier of the parts needed is no longer in business. Correct Craft may have to find another way to make
or purchase parts that are not currently being made. Or the part is simply NLA, No Longer Available. Try to find a Airguide speedometer for a mid 1990's Correct Craft boat.
Another factor, more manufactures are adopting "Just In Time" supply strategies. Correct Craft tells a supplier they will need 5 widgets for the five G23 boats they make in July. So the widget maker plans on making five widgets, hires employees, and supplies to make only five widgets, and makes five of them. Then you need one for a warranty repair. So, a widget can go on a new boat, and potentially make money, or it can go to a warranty repair, and cost money. You know what is right, but you can see the pressures for that not to happen. Please note, I do not know how many G23's are being made in a month, that is just a guess for the example I put forth.
I have worked fo a Nautique dealer, early in this century, and in my case, the dealer tried very hard to keep customers boats running. Even to the point of taking some parts off a new boat in stock to get a customers boat going again. There were also hours of overtime, when I really wanted to play with my own boat.
Another thing I would like to add is this. The boats are getting more complicated, with more systems to go wrong. My old ski boat, I do not need to worry about the ballast system having problems. I do not need to worry about the tower cracking, or damaging the gelcoat where it is mounted. I do not need to worry about the keypad going bad. I have none of this on my boat.
I have heard an engineer at GM in the early days had a saying, "Parts left off a car cost nothing, and create no service problems" There is a lot of wisdom in that philosophy.

As boat owners we can blame any delay on many possibilities. DanielC made some great points many of them accurate. Look at all the questions on this site about "Which tower do I have????" So many towers from multiple suppliers and now with many color choices. Robertsmcfarland your tower part that wa back ordered and blamed on a supplier what year is your boat and which tower do you have? CC has switched towers so many times it is difficult for any of us to keep track. If you have a boat more than 2 years old likely your tower has been discontinued and a part must be built from scratch and shipped. CC does want to stock obsolete parts whether it is a $1 spark plug or $5,000 engine or tower. CC can blame this on anyon thy want but bottom line is they are responsible for supplying parts to their dealers in a timely manner. When you get to "lean" you may also lean out the number of satisfied owners you have!!!!

Since this one was just brought to the top, I'll chime in with a situation that just happened on our boat. We have an '08 210 and had it in for some warranty items, one of which was for our dealer to replace sano pads(cracked, chipped, and dry rot) throughout. I show up to get boat and find that they have put grey sea-dek on the swim platform and that's all. I'm told the reason is that Correct Craft no longer has the old material left, so they are using sea-dek for all of their replacements. I asked the dealer when they were going to replace the rest so everything matched. I was told that nautique still has the old material for the seating areas so in order to get everything to match again, I would have to pay the difference to get the "upgraded" material. So my two options are: 1) let them put the old material in the seating area and have everything unmatched and look really tacky, or 2) Pay for an "upgrade" on an item that is supposed to be under warranty.
I don't understand how Correct Craft continues to win all of these Customer Service awards. I've owned this boat since new and have never had a good CS experience with them. Every time I have to deal with them about an issue or warranty, I feel like I'm given excuses, the run around, or they are trying to take shortcuts in remedying the issue.2012 SANTE 210 (it's official)

I feel your pain...I think Nautique - like many companies - is somewhat better at selling boats than keeping existing owner's happy. Many companies don't seem to be concerned about word of month of existing customers.

I'm going to say my experience with CC has been positive (now my dealer, THAT's another story) on my recent warranty claim. I got some new deck cushions (cushions/vinyl fine) because they've changed the hardware on the engine hatch, so they could have just sent new skins, or just the hardware.
Lead time to get the parts was longer than expected, but they had to build new cushions to match our boat. Also not sure how much the dealer contributed to this process.2008 230 TE-ZR6
