I don't know who rutwad is, but has it occurred to anyone that he may be on here to start some controversy? this is his only post and I haven't seen a reply, although maybe I just haven't seen it. I don't get too excited when I see these types of posts because usually they end up with a resolution that is not directly apparent in the first post.

I am new to this site b/c I just purchased my first Nautique.

So far I have not heard what happened to the original engine. The ECM was downloaded and PCM was unable to determine what actually failed. They will not know until they go through it themselves. But 2 cylinders only had 20 PSI compression.

Ron Nace and I spoke yesterday. I don't expect there is much that can be done on the weekend, but he is aware of my problems.

Really? He isn't listed as an officer of the company. Is he just the highest that handles these sorts of issues?

I have just gotten off the phone with Ron Nace. Some people from affiliated companies are coming out to look at issues with my boat. I get the impression that I am back to square one, people trying to repair my boat. I took delivery of my boat May 18. It has been at the shop going on 8 weeks of that time. Not to mention the hours they have put on it themselves.

Right now I feel like I paid full price on a new boat, but am ending up with a rebuilt boat instead.

Where in 'Bama? We don't have a dealer in Northern Alabama anymore (well, a close one).

As a potential new CC customer I am going to be watching this. I would feel very discouraged if I was in your shoes. It would definetly ruin the new boat experience.

Sullivan, I purchased Nautique because I heard it had one of the best warranties in the business. I think Nautiques have a higher resale. And it is suppose to be a great boat design for wakeboarding. Well I will address all three. As far as the warranty, I would not expect anything less from any boat manufacture regarding my problems. So I cannot account for them having a better warranty as far as taking care of the customer. Resale value- wow! When I present a potential buyer with a list of porblems as long as my leg, I feel certain many MANY would-be buyers will turn away. So as far as higher resale, thay may hold true on average, but it will prove useless when I try to sell my boat. Great wakeboarding boat? I'm sure it is, but I could not give you an honest comparison to other manufactures. Someone with much more experience than I would have to tell you there.

What makes Nautiques better? I don't know. Many of the boat makers all run the same engines. Is Nautique worth the extra money? My opinion is definitely not the one you want on that.

I'm curious as to what dealer you are at as well. The only CC dealer I know of in AL anymore is Russell Marine in Alexander City, but I haven't heard anything bad from them yet.

                              Sullivan and Rutwad,
This forum alone can account for 100's of problem-free Nautique boats, so please don't let this lemon completely change your opinion. However, if I were in Rut's shoes I would demand a new boat. You should receive the same experience the rest of us have had when purchasing a new boat - years of trouble free enjoyment, not a rebuilt frankenstein. I wouldn't give up or give in to fixes at this point. I'm going to assume in the end you'll be offered a 2013 boat, but will have to pay the price increase for the new model year, as I believe it's too late for them to build a new 2012 for you.

I hate to openly say you are right or wrong because I do not want to discredit anybody. But Russell Marine is the only Nautique dealer I know of in the area.
