    Radio for 1993 SN

As I have posted on other threads, I own a 1993 closed bow nautique. My question this time is where do I install a radio? I have looked all ove the boat and have yet to find a "good" place to put one. I know I am not the first one to do this, so where do you suggest?

    Pics would be great

    Thanks

The factory location for the radio in a '93 would have been the glove box.

Not sure if the dash layout is the same on your boat as it was on my 90 sport but we cut a stereo into the warning label above the key to the left of the steering wheel. My brother has that boat but I'll be at his shop later this week and will snap a few pics if I can. We liked that spot but it was a very tight squeeze to get the stereo to slide into the opening without removing the steering wheel.

I think the stereos that came from the factory got mounted in the glove box back then but not sure.

I just have the remaining "cage" from where the Previous Owner had put the radio. It's pretty much out of the way, and no cutting of the dash required but I imagine it could be a little tough to change the station/volume/track. I guess a remote would help quite a bit with that though.

I used to have a 93 CB Ski Nautique, I installed the head unit in the glove box and had an ipod cord to the drivers seat. I used a dremel to cut out the hole in the back of the box. The unit was a clarion XMD so it had bolts so I could through bolt it. I added a layer of thick plastic (actually used cutting board material) to add extra thickness to the mounting location for better support. Never had an issue with it, solid as a rock.

I have a Clarion XMD out of my 04 Super Air Nautique with through bolts on the face if your looking for a head unit. Feel free to make an offer.
