    EFI for Older Nautiques

Anyone know of a high quality EFI system for older Nautiques? I have a 1991 and would love to experience the smoothness and reliability of EFI instead of a carburetor.

If cost is a consideration, you may want to consider a slightly newer boat, like a 97' with a GT-40 that is EFI & Electronic Ignition.
Not only will you get the smoothness and reliability of EFI you will also be out of a boat with wood stringers that at some point will need replacing you will also have a substantially better slalom wake to ski. In the end that jump may only be a few $k more then updating your 1991.

I was wondering the same thing. I just purchased a 99 SN that is carbureted and I would like to change over to EFI. Is the cost worth the upgrade?

Are you thinking about swapping out engines, or a different boat? For roughly $10k you could have a brand new Excal with ZO. Jody Seal is a great resource for further information. If I were making the switch, I'd tow my boat to his shop.

I'll tell you what I was told and what I have seen countless others say when this question comes up on a boat forum.

          1. Yes, you can do it.
          2. It is not inexpensive.
          3. It is more cost effective to buy a newer boat with EFI than to add one to a carbureted engine on a boat.
          4. A properly setup and maintained carburetor is plenty reliable and easier to work on if you are so inclined.
