FatBoy, I wasn't calling you out on the trunk issue, just the decal thing. I'm constantly amazed by the amount of owners who don't even know what they have...

          Hollywood,

Franz and I are very good friends, we work for the same company and I was just pullling his chain. Didn't mean to get you caught up in it. He knows what kind of boat he has and so do I.

Bottom line is that this is a 196 with Air graphics to match the tower theme..........

Not to burst your bubble Dragon88 - but I think you are wrong. There WAS a 2001 Air Nautique 196 - - a smaller AIR for that year- and I don't think it has the trunk. They still had the Sport and the regular AIR Nautique. Check out the used one in this link from Wakeworld. It even says 196 on the side. I have also seen other pictures of the same model in a Trailer Boats ad a few years back. That one was yellow/white and also "196 Air Nautique"

              Hope this clears it up

I keep telling you guys that is what Franz's boat is. He took the 196 stickers off the boat as he didn't like the way they looked. BUT HIS BOAT IS A 2001, AIR 196, AND NO IT DOES NOT HAVE A TRUNK.

You guys need to chill. I did have the 196 removed, I thought it looked tacky (just my opinion). But if you look at the Nautique Literature you will find out that a sport nautique and an air nautique are the same design, the SNOB and the air 196 are the same design, the super air and the super sport are the same design the sport 211 and the air 211 are the same design, and the sport 226 and the air 226 are the same design . They just have different graphics and options that can be modified or ordered as the owner sees fit. It's certainly not worth getting worked up over, but don't let FatBoy fool you. Neither one of us works, we are just employed at the same location. The hardest thing we do is eat, sleep, and breath boats, and have done so for some 25 years. We have been following Nautiques for a long time and will continue to do so. When we were young and boated at White Lake, NC, we could not afford an official Nautique, so we rebuilt a 70 something Galaxie outboard, changed the interior to copy the Nautique design and had the Graphics "SKI ANTIQUE" painted on the side. Now is that sick or what???

I don't know if we still have a picture. We were just talking about that yesterday. Next time you talk to Diane at WLM ask her about the SKI ANTIQUE. We had tons of fun on that boat.

I am quite sure that the only offerings made of this sort were: 98-99 "Air Tiques" then in 02 they started making offerings of the "196 Air Nautique" I do know that in 00 they did not offer such a boat in '00. I'm sorry, but I think your boat is a case of badge engineering. It's still a great boat, I just don't remember it being an Air Nautique from the factory, and so far my evidence I've collected supports my original statement.
                          How about \"Chales\"?

You know this is just really crazy. I mean people coming on here and telling someone they don't know what kind of boat they have in their driveway or even what year model boat they have. I don't think I could ever be that bold, I mean it’s like telling Superman that his cape is blue.

                            FYI:

Franz called Correct Craft and asked them because after all this he was wondering if he had a 2002 boat that had the wrong year on the title. He gave them his hull number which is one of a kind like a cars vin number. They assured him that his boat was a 2001 Air 196. The boat was not introduced into the Correct Craft brochure until 2002 but was produced during model year 2001 and his boat is one of the first ones of this model that was made.

FOR THE LAST TIME, THIS BOAT IS A 2001 AIR 196, AND IT DOES NOT HAVE A TRUNK….LMAO

Actually this is our 70s model Galaxie with a new paint job and AIR Graphics. I guess I've been busted by a hackysacker...
Hey FatBoy, I thought Superman's cape was green. I think Clark was doing a little Badge Engineering of his own.

I was selling a very rare car on ebay last year and I had a few "car experts" tell me that the car did not exist and that they were going to report me for freud to ebay. Long story short, i sent them a copy of the original factory window sticker along with the vin and a number to call audi. The car ended up selling for more than I paid for it to an engineer that was designing the new corvette. Anyways, it really made my blood boil when someone tried to tell me that I don't know what I own.
