I had a 96 Sport, The wake was more vertical than rampy (if you know what I mean). IIRC I used to weigh mine with about 1200lbs. I remember when I bought my 2004 210 I thought the wakes were similar in shape and size but my 210 did it with factory ballast.19 SANTE 210

I went from a 85 to a 93 sport, same as what you are looking at. The wake was similar, but the differences was that the sport was a touch wider at the same mph and line length. It had a touch less steep at the ramp but it did respond to weight better. It got a bigger wake and more solid with weight where the 85 just got more solid.
It was a great transition from one to the other, I liked my sport a lot. It was huge inside compared the the 85 as well.

The only think I would recommend is try to find a 98-00 sport that has a trunk. The 97 won't have a trunk. Reason is for a fat sac. Trunk on our 00 sport is massive, easily fits a 600lb and throw another 300 in the ski locker and it's a dang good wake for a DD. Wide, Smooth, transition is awesome. We really like ours.
