Best place to get a boat loan? Bank of America won't loan on a boat older 7yrs old

Hey guys im trying to help my brother out with getting a nautique. He has A+ credit and wants the best rates. He went to his bank "bank of america" and they would only loan on a boat no older than 7 yrs. from the current year. Where did you guys get your loans? He's looking at a 2002 and a 2004 SANTE'S. Thanks for any input.

Try to look for any Credit Unions you might be eligible for. Probably get the best rates there for a used boat.
    2012 SANTE 210 (it's official)
    2008 SANTE 210

Sorry I'm not much help. I borrowed little by little over the past 25 years from current living expenses and then went out an bought one. I'm not saying it was the right idea, as I didn't get my Nautique until I crossed the 50 mark. The water toys before that were Bayliners and jet skis. My suggestion would be to get it while you can enjoy it. This wakeboarding stuff can be hard at my age. I still can't make the W2W jump but that's my goal before I hit 55 (without shortening the rope).
2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop
      2010 SANTE 230 343 (280hrs)
pre 2010 - various open bow boats and jet skis

I would second the Credit unions... Stay away from bank of America....... Credit unions are the way to go.

Bank of America hands down has the best rates we have found. He just has to buy a 05 or newer with them. They are cheaper by 3% over the next cheapest place.

I had my '07 196 loan from BOA, as their rates were great. Can he find an '05 within his budget? If not, credit unions are good. M&I bank is great when dealing with boats too. They don't have an age restriction, they just do 80% on the average NADA.

                            Did you try USAA: https://www.usaa.com/inet/pages/bank_loan_boat_main

They are military affiliated, but, they are getting less and less strict with the actual military affiliation. Not sure if it is still a requirement, but even when it was, your affiliation could be through a relative.

I wound up not needing to finance, but they seemed pretty liberal with the year ranges etc. Although, I don't know if the rates are as good as those posted above.

Not sure if this boat is still for sale but I found this.

2005 in your price range. Ive seen a few but they do get snagged up quick.
