Just a note, this graphics package is optional. One can still get it with the current look. I'm liking the new interior.

I have a question about 200 dd open bow's. Are they user friendly? what I mean by this is, I have been in the two other major un-named manufactor's tournament ski boats and other then sitting still or in idle the open bow is un-usuable. If i were to put my kids up there the nose would dunk for sure. I'm assuming the 200v would be fine but i am more interested in a direct drive.

It is usable, but the driver could dip the bow if not paying attention. You'll get a little spray off the hull at idle as well, if there's some wind. It's about the best you're going to get in a DD tournament boat nowadays. The 200V isn't any better, from what I hear.

Well, my 2 kids and sometimes the wife also ride up front in our 200V. I have yet to take water over the bow, I feel much safer in this boat than my previous Sport and 206 with respect to bow freeboard. If me at 6'1" decides to lounge up front its a little tight but still quite usable.

            just my 2 cents.

I may have made it sound worse than it actually is. We haven't taken any water over the bow either, and my wife and I lounge up there whenever possible.

I guess I spoke too soon... My wife took a little splash over the bow today with no one sitting up front when she turned around to pick me up after a wakeboard run. Back to driving school for her!

surfsmith....thats funny, wifes can be like that huh. How does the ski wake and slalom wake compare to your old 206 or 95 sport? i currenty have a 95 ski (close in comparason)and i am hoping this boat will eliminate the need to have fat sacks all over the boat. The tower would be a nice addition as well. Kids enjoy the open bow when I take them out with someone who has one(mc 197) but i dont want to totally give up my addiction to slalom!!

Black and blue are gel, with the 4 blocks being stickers.

You will get water over the bow. I consider myself a good driver and I pay attention but even without anyone in the bow if you are turning to pick up a skier and there are a lot of large boat wakes it's nearly impossible to avoid dunking the bow. This is usually the case as you are bringing the rope to the skier and cannot use the throttle to get the nose of the boat up and out of the water with out giving the skier rope burn.

All of my past boats have been closed bow. When I ordered my 12 I picked up the OB mainly for resell. I am going to install a bow cover because I am tired of pulling the cushions and carpet up to dry it out. It's fine to have people in the bow if you are up on plane and/or the water isn't choppy. Personally for what i use it for an open bow in a DD is way over rated.

So compared to your 196's would you consider it worse or equal? Sounds like they are very similar to the 197's. I just need to find a dealer to test these two 200's out the dd and the v. Only a mc dealer around here....frustrating...

Way worse than a 196 for dipping the bow.
