    Need Service in East Texas

okay- in what seems to be a never-ending quest to get on the water this spring, I found out Saturday that I had popped a freeze plug in my '89 Sport.

Unfortunately its the one situated right over where the engine mount is, and it's **** near impossible to get to, so the engine's going to have to be pulled out a little to get to it.

I know there's a Nautique dealer in Tyler,TX which is pretty close to my place in Athens, but I don't kow anything about them. I know the guys up in Lewisville and know they're good, but its just inconvenient for where I am.

Hopefully it's just a matter of popping a new plug in, I doubt any freezing damage was done since it really didn't get to cold over the winter and the engine was drained prior to any freezing.

Anybody know anyone or have experience with Ski-N-Sport in Tyler?

Thanks for the help...I hope I can get this resolved quickly. It's killing me to be off the water right now.

I've used Southwest Correct Craft since '84. Excellent people to do business with. They have been in the process of moving the sales office to Tyler. It's on the loop close to Mercado's mexican restaurant. Call them at 903-882-8593.

I would vouch for SW Correct Craft. Great crew, for a bunch of Texans!

I don't post over here much as a MasterCraft owner (long-time viewer/first time poster). But inasmuch as SWCC is our only local inboard dealer in Tyler, I call them "my" dealer when my boat needs service. They are fantastic. They are still in Lindale for a little bit longer, but as mentioned, will be moving sales, service, and parts to Southwest Loop 323 in Tyler (where Goolsbey Tire used to be). The name of the new dealership escapes me, but SWCC will remain in Lindale as a wholesale outlet.

Rumor has it that Tyler will be getting another tournament inboard dealer in a year or so. But even if that dealer sells my brand, I will stick with the folks from SWCC. Again, I see no reason you should go anywhere else. They will take very good care of you.

thanks for the suggestions guys. I called SWCC yesterday and talked with the service manager. He was real helpful and told me honestly that they were real busy and it would probably be a month or so before he could even get to it.

I really appreciated that. It would have been easy for him to take my boat in just to get the business, but instead was honest with me that I could probably find someone to do it quicker.

He seemed like a good guy and I'll definitely use them in the future as things come up.

Props also to the guys at Buxton in Lewisville. They're always a lot of help, and aren't quite as backed up right now. I've had nothing but good experiences with them too.

Now if I can only get the **** boat to run consistently well. I'm about ready to clean it up for trade-in, but I think my creditors would have some other ideas.

They are always very busy there. I took my boat in on Tuesday and was told two weeks at least. On the upside, they keep your boat inside. Don't know if that will be the case at the new location. Good luck.
