since i am in need of a new cover i've been weighing the pro's and con's of different brands. at this point it's between cover sports or one from nautique parts. i don't really care about trailering with it on, but both seem to do that. i also don't really care about putting up a pole or two. what's most important to me is no pooling, breathability, warranty, and customer service. i know what kind of c.s. i'll get at white lake and what i can expect from cover sports. nautique parts uses an 8oz. poly guard, but sunbrella 9oz. is available. any thoughts on materials? if you've got one from nautique parts and like it or hate it please let me know. considering cover sports is 900 and nautique parts is 478 i'm leaning towards the ladder.

I have a Nautiqueparts one for my Ski Nautique I got the premium in Green, which I think is Sunbrella. It's about $340 now. I think it was about 3 and change at the time. I bought it when I was buying my boat in Dianne recommended the better version for longer life. I'm into my 3rd season with it and so far, so good. It seems to be a good heavy cover and doesn't leak.
You'll have to us a couple poles to tent it enough to shed water. The rear section has a place for a button top pole, which I added later. For the front, you could use PVC over your plyon. It came with a bunch of straps for the trailer, but I often use bungees. If I cover it in the water, I use weights.
I think both the weights and the poles are normal to keep water from pooling with any cover. It fits the boat very well though.

i got a premium in storm grey around 3 yrs back from white lake and have been very satisfied with it. however, my boat sleeps in a garage most of the time so i have not used it on a daily basis. that said, i found the material to be very breathable, lightweight, and water beads off of it. although it tightens up very snug, my 210 still needs poles to keep water from pooling in hard rain. i use one behind the windshield and one in the bow, both of which have snaps to secure them to. the fit is very good, and it velcros around the tower legs well. mine doesn't get "drum tight" like the cover sports seems to in the pics i've seen, but i never tow with mine on so that didn't concern me.2003 SANTE - "OG 210"

If your tower was factory mounted and not installed by a dealer which would allow for some variations, spend the extra bucks. I got one of cs covers from a guy on here whose boat it wouldn't fit. tower holes were off. that thing fits like a very tight glove, no poles, no straps. no weights, no bungees, no balooning of cover at 70 mph on the freeway. THAT THING IS FREAKING AWESOME AND THE BEST ENGINEERED PRODUCT I HAVE EVER SEEN! However, i didn't have to deal with the production of the cover. I have had the other style of covere, and will never go back. I can ever put it on in the water in about 3-5 minutes.2005 SV-211

Just happen to be on a budget, and I not sure cover sports will take care of me properly should there be any issues. And if i got a cover that didnt fit and was told tough cookies my lawyer and i would be maling a road trip to the shop. I have a factory fct-1 tower. Anyways, I'll mull it over. My mom says go cover sports too

FWIW, i used to have a commercial sewing cover on my 05 x-2 and it was totally amazing in every way. however, i have sent them 2 emails spaced months apart and never had a response. i checked my spam and bulk mail and searched all. i was rather bummed, but i think it turned out for the better. White Lake FTW.

Ha. Lots of companies dont do email very well... surprising in this day and age, but a fact nonetheless! Next time, if you like a company's products, I would recommend picking up the phone:

Ive never had one of their covers, but theyre in my neck of the woods- so I should probably poke my head in there sometime.
Ive never purchased a cover from White Lake either, but I would be skeptical of what youre getting if theyre selling their "premium" for $340. Im not sure you could buy the Sunbrella material for that much, let alone sew it together and make a profit- so Id be willing to bet good money that its another type of material. Skiboatcovers and Angola Canvas are both in the $500-550 ballpark for a sunbrella cover for a 19' boat. Ive had too many crappy poly/poly blend/Sharkskin covers to go with anything less than Sunbrella, but thats just me. Angola's covers fit pretty nicely, and they have all the old Correct Craft patterns. Ive only heard good things about Skiboatcovers, and I think they have a decent selection of "newer" (80's and forward) Correct Craft patterns.1990 Ski Nautique

I purchased a premium cover (performance poly guard) from NautiqueParts this Spring for my 200. There was a mix up on the manufacturer's (Carver) end and they sent me the wrong color. White Lake had them send me the correct color immediately before I even returned the other one. Errors happen and you can't ask for better customer service than that. You get what you pay for with covers. For less than $500 you will get a quality made, custom cover. If you take the time to use the poles and tie downs around the boat, the cover will shed water, breath and stay in place. It is not, however, comparable to the ratchet-tightened, no-poles, trailerable covers but it also is a fraction of the cost.2012 200

i did my research on the fabrics as well as spoke with Townsend at white lake about why they use poly guard now rather than the world famous sunbrella fabric; as well as told him about the typical weather where i live and what im expecting out of the material. he explained the customer satisfaction has been better with poly guard and that it does a great job for all of my needs(repel water, breathe, strong, etc. it has the 5 year warranty. it's custom made for my model of boat. i don't need to trailer w/ the cover on(This one can do that) and to me being able to get in touch with them is more important than having the cat's meow cover sports cover that is twice the price. not knocking cs. they are definitely awesome covers. i ordered the support system which is way easier and effective than sticking a pole through a vent cap or other type pole holder in the cover. this leaves me $ left over to recover my sundeck. ill post pics in 2 weeks or so when it arrives.

FYI, Commercial Sewing will only sell direct if you are buying an out of production boat model. For current boat models you will need to go through your CC dealer. As for being hard to get a hold of I picked up the phone and called and was helped right away.
