All, I would really like to hear all your thoughts no holes barred.

I love to ski and surf, the jury is still out on wakeboarding and I probably should hire a professional to help us. Anyway I went to the dealer this weekend and talked about trading the 230 SANTE for a Sport 200. It appears to be a good boat but it will probably not have the surf wake of a 230 or the ski wake of a slalom boat. My 230 is now the way I want it, fresh air exhauts, z5, intagrated 750's, upgraded NAV maps for LYNKSYS. Here's my options.

Option 1, trade 230 for a Sport 200.
Options 2, keep the 230 and buy a 83 ski nautique. http://www.buxtonmarine.com/web/boat...ition_id=10426 I would have to store this outside at a freinds house with a cover.

I think I could put about $500 into it, run it for another 100 hours or two years and get my money back, and satifsy my need for no wake. The price has to have hit bottom. Is it really practical not to lose value on this boat and will the M&R nickle and dime me into the poor house?

Did you take a demo to ski and surf?

Not yet. I have read several of the posts on the 200 and hope to get out on one (as well as demo the ski boat) this weekend. I think the demo will give me a good idea of the ski wake but not the surf, as I'm not sure they will sack it out like I would. On the demos do the dealers let you sack out a boat? When surfing on the 230 I run a 750 in the locker, a 750 in the seat (unless the boat is full of people) and 300lbs of lead in the nose. I understand that the 200 will only hold a 450 in the locker.

We finally have our 200v dialed in for surfing. Factory belly and either rear tank filled depending on surf side. I installed 400 sacks each side of the motor, again we fill what side we are surfing and a bow sack that we fill to about 400. Surfs very good in this config. It also throws a very nice wakeboard wake when all factory, both 400's in the rear and 400 up in the bow. Slalom wake is still best at 28 off or shorter.

The slalom wake on a 200V is better than a 2001 Nautique (82-89), from what I have seen. Unfortunately, there is nothing you are going to do to get the surf wake of that 20' boat up to the level of your 230.

I'm a two boat fan. I'd go to a 1990 hull though.

I was at the same point early this summer. Keep the old direct drive and buy a used SAN 210 or sell direct drive and buy 200v. I have a friend with a 2006 san210 that I have boarded and surfed behind. After test driving and riding a 200V, I opted to sell the direct drive and buy the 200V. Did not want to have to maintain two boats. I like the wake board wake, but you will never make it match a 210 or 230. The 210 wake is much steeper, the 200v is tall but not nearly as steep.

You can put a 750 in the rear lockers. It will fill full, or nearly full. For surfing, put a 750 in back and an 1100 up front. The key is the weight in the front. This makes a longer wake.

How about option 3...keep the 230 and find a local PN member with a ski boat for the occasional pull??

I am in the same dilemma with my 03 210 for a 200v. My surf wake is fine on my 210 with factory ballast, Wake board wake is perfection, slalom wake I have yet to dial it in. I am hoping the 200v has a comparable slalom wake to my Grandpa's 94 Master craft 205. I doubt it though.

Thanks everyone, I like option 3 and am looking. Found a guy at the dock with a Malibu...engine had quit and he had to swim it to the trailer. I offered help and we exchanged info so hopefully it works out (after he gets it fixed).

Bimmerboyz, Does your Grandpa want to sell his boat? I hear the 1991 to 1994 MC's had the best ski wake (in the 190 model) and the 94 had the fuel injected engine. Hopefully you are shreading the water with him?

His is the 205, no he is not selling it, he has had it since it was new. He still Slalom's better than I do. I get a pull behind it often.
