I was under the impression it was designed to be towed in the down position and the cover was made to go over the tower ?? But I could be totally wrong !

I did not know this about the nautique cover, nice two part design, can understand the problem if you use the cover with tower down. gate9869,pull four pins, and the z5 is off .I take mine off myself.you can put it back on just as quick.

I don't know if it is or not lol thats why I was asking I saw a few pics that looked like the tower was under the cover maybe they had after market covers. I'm hopingnits easier than the 230 z5 that thing is a pain to deal with by yourself

Yep, definitely made to tow both up and down. Here's a pic of mine with cover over the folded down tower.

Just out of curiosity how hard is it to take the z5 mount off ? I use my z5 all the time for surfboard so nice keeps them out of the way. Second question if I go with the z5 and no tower speakers is there enough room to mount wet sounds rev410s or would they hit the z5 mounting post ? I do not have exact measurements but whats your opinion ? Thanks for all the help and advice much appreciated !

There is 9" between the back bar of the tower and the Z5 and about 7" between the front bar and the Z5.

It's the factory cover, from Nautique, when you order your boat. Yep, it's strapless.

Thanks vision !! You don't by any chance know the total length between the two z5 pole mounts do you ? Just trying to get all my ducks in a row so I don't order the wrong options.

Iron do you have the z5 ? If so is it hard to remove the z5 to cover the tower ?

I don't. All I know is that I've been told that the Z5 on the G23 is quite-a-bit bigger than what goes on the 230.

I do, and its smaller and lighter than the z5 on my 230,I used to take the z5 off on the 230 by myself but if someone was down on the dock would ask for help. on the g23 its not as wide or long and have taken off about 4 times now, just playing around with it, I would not think twice removing it myself even if some one was with me, no speakers to work around. on the 230 it it seem the brackets that held the z5 were tight and some times had to use a rubber hammer to to get out, on the g23 pull the the 4 pins lift and carry away.

Good info. Hopefully my dealer will get both the Z5 and the Bimini in before next spring, so I can check them both out.
