2001 GT40 Super Air, What parts should I carry?

2001 GT40 Super Air v-drive, What parts should I carry?

I'm heading out on a week long houseboat trip. I have spare belts, impeller, prop, and oil.

Anyone have any "trip enders" over part failure? What last minute item should I get?

^^^ Yep. Prop and puller are good. Has it been tuned etc recently? Are you remembering the tools to change those parts if needed?

Antisiphon valve. $10. Easy to replace. Failure is pretty common with all the ethanol blended gas. Can be a trip ender if it sticks up on you.

Antisiphon valve (ASV) is a NPT to barbed fitting (1/2" if I recall correctly) that is on top of the gas tank connected to the fuel sending hose. It has a little check valve (spring loaded ball valve) inside the fitting. Its purpose is to prevent fuel from siphoning into your bilge should your fuel line rupture. The ethanol blended gas causes a build up of varnish and whatnot on the valve over time and causes it to stick, slowing down fuel flow and causing stalls when you give it some throttle. But given a few minutes, the boat will start and idle again.

I have had little luck working the valve or soaking it in carburetor cleaner. Once it's stuck, it can become stuck again pretty quickly. My last one lasted about two seasons under admitted light use. I think less frequent use accelerates the problem.

If you can get the hose off the barb (I have resorted to cutting the hose twice now), it's just a matter of putting some pipe thread sealant on the fitting, screwing it on, putting the fuel line on the barb, and tightening the hose clamp.

I have a spare in my glove box.

If you can look into it and see the little spring loaded ball valve, then yes.
