Has anyone tried this: https://www.boathistoryreport.com? I am guessing it just shows what year and model it is, and maybe at most where it was first sold.

It doesn't actually show the model which is frustrating but it does give history information. I used it on a boat I purchased and it was able to give me coast guard data for all but one year, as well as the fact that it had been in an accident (I already knew this but it was nice to confirm the details). I have seen it listed on some big sites so I trust it a little more than some of the others that claim the same thing. I don't think anything is perfect, not even carfax. Their customer service is pretty good though so it might be worth it to at least try it... Good luck!
