Scams on Boattrader.com

I found a 2009 230 and about 5 other wakeboard boats for about $20k to cheap on boattrader.com and emailed the seller. They were doing the "wire a down payment to hold the boat" scam and I reported them to Boattrader.com. I found the same boat for sale on ebay and boattrader through a legitimate seller, so they were taking the photos and descriptions and re-posting them. The advertisements have been since pulled. Here is some information on this scammer in case you run across him in the future:

I saw the same thing!! I called and told them I would pay them on cash if they would just deliver it to me. I wish I knew someone who could go by the office and see what is going on and the report back to us.

I tried to buy a boat on eBay. Listing had a ton of pics, great description and quite a few bids. I had a couple questions and the seller wouldn't respond to my messages through eBay. So I placed a bid and obtained the seller's phone number. I called and to his surprise, he didn't own a boat nor had anything for sale on eBay. Someone had stolen his eBay account information and produced a false listing. The scammer did a great job building the auction, unfortunately, he was outsmarted. eBay was notified and the listing was removed. It is a shame what people will do to scam $$ out of others.

grnking, there is no office, if you map the address above it doesnt exist. they could probably be traced through their phone numbers or or email domain. i doubt they are smart enough to have dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's. if someone wanted to they could find them. lets just hope nobody sends them any money without seeing a boat first.
