Wakebrothers

Anyone been watching Wakebrothers on MTV? The first few episodes were a learning process for me and I was really losing interest until Monday's (9/3) episode. Finally some real wakeboarding riding there and seeing an SANTE, X-Star and Malibu all on the same lake. The competition was at Orlando Watersports Complex and they were pulled with a new G23.

So Phil is a Malibu Team member with his big Black and Yellow Pickle Fork Bu.
Bob is a Nautique Team Member with his Blue and White SANTE.
Not sure who has the White and Blue X-Star?

Anyone else watching this show? I hope they keep the competition scenes in them since it makes it worth watching.

I agree this show was much better than the last 3 combined. I find myself pausing and rewinding a lot looking at the boats or wake or tricks! They sure make it a point to show as little of the boats as possible. Maybe for an occasional bikini. But wow that g3 was throwing a crazy big wake!!!

I pretty much gave up on it after one episode. A bunch of dumb a$$ drama and not nearly as funny as Fantasy Factory. I guess I will see if I can catch this most recent episode if they are finally riding.

Yep, I was doing that too. Pause, step forward frame by frame, rewind, etc. etc.

I enjoy it...actually laugh a lot at how stupid Bob is...Phil's reactions are classic. Love the wakeboarding and boat shots, chicks are pretty stellar too. I was worried, as was someone else here a while back that all the weekend warriors will see this show and we'll get that many more newbs on the waters trying anything and everything behind whatever boat they have. It's whatever...

They live and ride on the Butler chain of lakes in Windermere. I ride out there some and was out there this weekend. Overall the show is more contrived like 99% of the other shows on TV today. I don't blame the networks as much as the viewing public, they're just producing a product that gets bought.

I watched it tonight. That one was better. The wake on those boats are unreal.

i tivo'd it. love anything wakeboarding. Go Phil and Bob. Just wish i was 25 years younger and could do more than a backroll. back in my day, there was phil and steve. phil won a gold medal in slalom and steve won a silver in sarajevo.

Get the sport out there anyway you can. i'm all for it.

with the exception of that first episode where there was a few minutes of them riding together (phil destroyed bob trick for trick), every other episode iv'e seen has been a complete bore. No one cares about phil and bobs failed bromance, love life, social inadequacies, etc. (which is all bullsh!t scripted for the show anyway) I haven't watched this last episode yet but it sounds like they show more of the boats and riding, which could be good

rusty and harley are much more interesting characters i might add, haha. should do a show of those two ...

Totally agree with you and the "bromance" comment, LOL. BTW, anyone notice in the last episode where Bob was standing in the bow of this SANTE while it was traveling down the lake with no driver?? At least Phil had someone in his boat driving! Stupid!!
