    Nautique factory speed control operation?

My 2009 SV 211 has the "Nautique" brand speed control. It's the disc mounted in the center of the steering wheel. That disc has the various controls on it (mph/rpm, up/down, set, etc.). The disc can be popped out, and has no connecting wires. It looks like there is a contact plate on the back of the disc and a contact plate in the wheel assembly.

My question is how to make it work better? I follow the manual instructions to set it, but it sets randomly at best. Half the time I just end up pressing buttons like a monkey with a banjo, until it decides to set. Once it sets, it stays set, but getting there can be challenge.

Anyone have the same issue, or figure out how to make it work better?

I had a Nautique cruise in my 2008 SN206. I had similar problems until I changed the battery on the back side of the controller (located on the steering wheel).

Hmmm, There was no contact plate on mine. It was just a remote mounted on the center hub of the steering wheel.

I'll try changing the battery. Sometimes the simplest fix is the best.

We have it on our 09 216V and it works really nice. The one thing to remember is once you hit the set button you have to throttle up just a bit to get it to hold. If the set light is flashing it already has a speed programmed and it will not let you reset it while under way so you have to hit cancel to get that light to stop flashing. Once it stops flashing you can set a new speed. I know it's not near as nice as perfect pass, but we have made due with out the $2k upgrade to PP.
