    Today's 216

Disclaimer: I should be able to find this on my own, but don't have much time.

Can anyone give me a brief history of today's 216? When did the hull originate and when and how has it evolved. How far back does it go?

Had a buddy tell me today that it dates to 2000. I didn't think that is the case, but don't know much about it. Please enlighten me.

    Thanks,

    John

From what I understand, the 216v was originally designed to "replace" the 211 in the CC lineup. AFAIK, it was only built in 2009. The 216v is designated as a "crossover" but most people who own one have said the ski wake is not as good as the 211's. It's a little bigger inside than a 211, and the interior is deeper to address some of the concerns of families with small children.
If you're talking about the 216 direct drive, that boat was first offered in 2003 and I think was discontinued in 2009.

You thinking about changing over to the good side? :-)
