Picking Colors for the 2013 PlanetNautique G23!!

I have been trying to decide on the colors for the 2013 PN boat. I like this design, but I want opinions from you guys too. Keep in mind that this boat will be for sale at the end of next summer....

And yes, that is red metal flake.

First Post! I just put a downpayment down on a new G23 with N3 in Indy and have spent hours looking at photos and trying to decide on color scheme!

I love your design but would favor the grey Nauteak.. I went into the design program and checked it out, looks pretty cool.

I know you have seen a ton more of these boats in real life so take my post with a grain of salt...

I saw that there was a whole thread dedicated to black hulls, but I have been concerned about the black swim platform and accent... routinely leave the boat uncovered for the day and worry the black portion of the transom and swim deck will get super hot... not big deal for adults, but for kids scrambling over back of boat worries me...

One of the major problems for a newbie -- is that there really aren't that many good quality or high res photos of this model to evaluate... hard to decipher between the flake and regular colors when you haven't seen them in person -- for example -- how different is the titanium grey from the gun metal flake on a G23??? because on the program very hard to tell -- but in real life -- huge difference... then there is the whole consideration of how it looks when in water and under power vs on the trailer/showroom where you see a whole different part of the boat... My dealer has been very helpful, but it is just one opinion.

any tips you could give would be helpful -- as I am about to commit to color and dont want any mistakes...

red silver black and blue are the colors that generally sell first so i think your safe there and it looks good to me...I don't know if you trailer much but I would be interested in hearing how it is to trailer a G23

My trailer has 18" wheels and the hydraulic pulse brakes. With these and a proper tow vehicle the boat tows like its not even there, and its super wide so its not at all unstable in the corners. I pulled mine over the mountains here in Canada this summer with an F350 Dually Diesel and hardly knew I was pulling anything.

I agree. It is almost if there are too many color choices...if there is such a thing. My deposit is down as well to secure the boat and motor combo.
Dealer says that I have a couple of weeks(months?) to finalize the color.

We are down to these 3 choices. The white main with the blue accent and blue tower will likely be our final choice. It seems to be more subdued and not as trendy as the other 2.

The one we test drove was red with black hull, much like your design Jeff. I liked, but we are not fans of OSU. Red isn't a color that is very liked in our home. The flake is very nice!!

Here's my contribution:anything flake looks great, it's a boat, get the fake teak, and get interior colors that don't get as hot as blacktop. I'd take a g series that was hot pink and said derogatory things about me personally all over it. Good luck.

Looks good! I am staying away from blue though because it seems like almost every G23 I have seen has blue in it. I want something different. I have been in a couple that don't have blue (the red and white one at the launch, the green and black one at the launch, etc.), but most of the production ones I have seen have been blue. They all look great, but I want something else.

I have towed a couple of them, one from Raleigh to Charlotte, and they tow fine. They're heavy and tall, but not much worse than a 230. Make sure your tow vehicle can handle it though. Dry weight is about 5,500 pounds, then there's the trailer, fuel, supplies...

The red and black looks great. I think the new metallic black would look awesome on a G23 too.

I have had both. I had the grey SeaDek in my 2011 210 and the brown SeaDek (also on the floor) in my 2012 210. I personally like the look of the brown better, but there are certain colors that require the grey floor in my opinion. I think the brown looks good against black and red, and grey looks good against lighter colors. Just my opinion though.

Thoughts from the rest of you?

okay, I'll bite.

There was a 2011 at the dealer on a lift in the water. Even though the boat was covered and I could not see the inside, the brown on the swam platform looked orangy. I assume from the sun. Can you comment?
I like the brown, as well. Just worried about it fading differently from the interior.

I guess if I used it enough (in the water uncovered)...It wouldn't be an issue

I actually had the opposite experience. The grey seemed to weather more severely than the brown for me. I know SeaDek changed suppliers for the material at some point. Not sure if that's where the difference came in.

Also, I can say that the brown held up very well for me this year. I couldn't see any difference between the inside and the outside in terms of color or wear.

Brown SeaDek for sure. It looks way better than grey in person.

Plus the red Va/NC clay shows up much less on the brown sea-dek.
