I noticed last weekend that while out on the water If I crack open my passenger side seet just a bit, the bass creep's out much better and dosent vibrate the **** out of my carbon fiber glove box lid, It seems as if the built up air pressure cause's lot's of rattle's/vibration when a heavy bass note hit's, So I decided to cut some vents in my passenger side seet. Here's the latest

Grants that's pretty **** sweet!!! PDT_001
Are you going to post a "How-To/Step-by-Step" thing on your site as usual, or is this too simple and easy for that? This is actually something I'd consider doing, but I think you forgot one step...
I think this calls for some red lighting in the back of it so it glows "Bling"...I Nautique, therefore I am.

I think Its about where you cut the holes, After I gu the holes in my seet. I could see the side closest to the drivers seet flex a bit when I threw my self into it, Thats why I went with the 3/4 MDF when I screwed it to the side of the seet it gave it back the support I lost when I cut it out.
BTW I dont know if any part of your boat is Fat Nat rated.

Grant, do you think just drilling 4 smaller round holes would work well enough for those of us with smaller subs/lower power? That would negate the need to reinforce the seat and could still be covered with a rectangular grill similar to what you have created.
I have a JL bandpass in there right now but will be putting in a IDQ 10d2v2 ported with about 300 watts and think with the vented seat it will easily outperform the JL. Especially, in the SQ department.
Don't have plans for a huge system like yours so I would think the smaller vents would still help without having to build back up the seat bottom.
BTW, AWESOME IDEA. I have wondered how to make the bass response better from under the seat since I put my sub in there. I think I will have to do that under the driver's side too to vent the sub under there.
