My $0.02 on the resale issue (sorry for the swerve on the thread), these resale prices are VERY local, and really get down to the color options and location of the boat. From my perspective from being in the market this spring, the # of 230's for sale has gone WAY up vs. 210's on the market. This tells me that many of the current 230 owners are looking to move into different boats or are getting out. In terms of the "demographic" of the 230 owner vs. the 210 owner, pretty safe bet the 230 owners are pretty"well-heeled" compared to the 210 owners (not looking to start anything). Just look at how many '10, '11, '12 230's are for sale compared to 210's. My point is somebody willing/able to spend the $90k for a 230, can swing another $35k for a G23, and probably will to get the latest and best offering from CC.
Now to 1Sick, your 210 was nice, but the colors were not what everybody would want (just my $0.02), and even though it was a very low hour boat, it will be 5 model years old. Add in the warranty is gone (or might have parts only if you transferred for a little while), and the market will ALWAYS discount the margin the dealer made in the original sale, gives you what the market will bear for your boat. You had it for sale during the summer correct? Didn't you have it listed with the dealer for a while as well at a much higher price earlier in the season? My point is that you had the boat marketed pretty well, had it for sale during a good time for buyers to be looking, and in the end, it was the price point that sold your boat (obviously the condition of your boat was "as new" given the low hours).
Ok "swerve" over, and I hope everybody holds out for $80k for ANY used 230's!!2008 230 TE-ZR6

I don't know some owners of the 210 don't want the hassles that come with the 230 and are happier with the 210. Such as added fuel, towing, storage, finicky wake. I know I could easily afford a 230 but it's just not the boat for me.
I wouldn't mind a g23 either but towing and feeding fuel to that beast would get old quick.

@Nordicron, I can see many owners of both 210's and 230's not wanting all the "extras" of a G2x, and that some people have length restrictions, others require garage kept, etc...I was just saying generally, those that have purchased the 230 because it was the "top" model in the Nautique line will find the $$ to upgrade to the G23 because it's now the "top" model in the lineup...
I think for the most part, ALL of the current Nautique owners have to be "pretty well heeled" to spend the money for our toys!2008 230 TE-ZR6

For me its the look of the boat, layout of the interior, options and features available that determine which model I buy. But here's something I think Nautique should give consideration to: Much of the discussion pre-release on the G23 was all about "building the perfect wake" -- now thats great for the pro riders (and they deserve a boat that will produce the perfect wake to further advance the sport, I take nothing away from that) - however, I think Nautique could gather a lot of useful information from a group of "Weekend Warrior" Nautique enthusiasts/buyers and ask what is needed/desired in a boat - what do the kids and families need to have as far as options and features to provide the best Nautique experience. Because lets face it, if the affluent weekend warrior buyer doesnt want to buy a Nautique, be it a 210, 230, G23 or G25 -- thats not good, because those "retail buyers" are where the company makes it bread and butter.
Heck who knows - maybe it leads to something like a company that has 2 divisions: Nautique Pro Sports and Nautique Recreational -- then again maybe not, but I think for discussion sake, it paints the picture.
Ive owned some model of Nautique for over 25 years and happen to still think its the best boat in the industry, and would like to see that "tradition" continue.Last edited by ccs; 10-04-2012, 06:31 PM.__________________________________________________
